OCTOBER 04, 2012
I’m the workaholic kind of person. You can never make me stay put inside the house or something. I need the action, the thrill, and the excitement of life. Then I started working at Vera Wang’s here in London. I’m Nikki, by the way. Nikki Carlson. I’m one of the fashion consultants at Vera Wang London.
At the company, when it’s your birthday week, you get the whole week off, but with pay. As much as I don’t want to, Ms. Wang kind of like forced me to do it, saying that I’ve been so busy with work that I need at least one week off. Anyway, being the workaholic that I am, I needed to, at least, get out of the house.
I called Patrice’s phone. But to my surprise, Louis picked up.
“Whaddup?” He asked.
“You two busy?” I asked. “I want to get out of the house.”
“Aww… We’re sorry, kitty cat. My boo bear and I are going out on a date today. I really need to make up for what happened last time.” Louis apologized.
“Sorry Nikki.” Patrice added.
“Today’s Patrice’s only day off work. So, yeah. Try calling Liam or Harry, though. See you around.” Louis continued.
“We’re really sorry, Nikki. Love you. Toodles.” Patrice bid.
I miss my friends a lot. With all our messed up schedules in work, we rarely see each other. Even when we do get days off, the couples (Patrice and Louis, and Zayn and Kyla) spend theirs together, Niall’s always on food trips, then Harry and Liam are always at the gym. Speaking of Harry, I miss him a million times more. He’s my best friend (secret crush, even). We’re like soul mates. We have everything in common. Well, except for gender, name, family, and work, but you get the idea. The two of us can go on chatting the whole day. We never run out of things to tell each other… But still…
I called up Liam next.
“Hey Kitty, what’s up?” He picked up.
“You busy? Wanna hang out?” I asked.
“Uhm… I have an errand to attend to. Try calling Harry up. I just dropped him off at home. He has nothing else to do for the day.”
“Oh. Okay. Sure. Thanks.”
“Love you. Bye.” Then he hung up.
With no other option left, I called Harry’s phone.
“Hey Nikki.” He greeted. “Lemme guess, you’re bored and you want to hang out with an awesome friend?”
“You know me all too well, huh?” I laughed.
“Hey, that’s what best friends are for.”
“So?”
“I’ll be there in ten minutes, aye? I’m gonna bring a couple of movies, so be ready with popcorn. Love you. Bye.”
Without a minute to spare, I started making popcorn, and right after I finished, the doorbell rang. I ran up to answer the door, and Harry was there holding up a couple of DVD’s.
