"Are you alright?" Asked Dr.Cullen.
"S-she bit me!" I said.
"Yes, come with me." He said as he guided me away.
"She bit me!  What kind of person does that?!" I said.
He led me away from the town.  The overwhelming smell of human blood was fading, which just made me crave it more.   I needed blood, like an addict needs a cigarette.    Dr.Cullen picked me up and ran.  Of course, at the time I didn't know what was going on.  He ran faster than any human I had ever met.  He stopped in a clearing.  I didn't like it.  All I could think about was getting my hands on blood.  I needed it.  I ran toward the fading smell of blood.  Dr. Cullen tried to catch up, but I could run faster.  I was incredibly fast.  A new smell came to my nostrils.  I ran trying to reach the source.  I ended up in a town.  A town full of people. People filled with blood.  So much blood I didn't know where to begin.

Dr. Cullen caught up with me in a matter of seconds.  He pulled me by my arm.  I hissed and tried to run away.  He yanked my arm and I went flying back.  He pinned me to the ground.
"Do you not realize what you are doing?! You are about to feed off of innocent people!" He said.
"You're right..." I replied.
I tried to keep calm around all of these people.  We started walking and talking.
"Doctor, what am I?" I asked him.
"We are immortal beings that feed off of the blood of living things.  In other words, we are vampires." He answered.
"And how do we deal with...cravings?" I asked.
"We will try to feed off of animals." He answered.
I nodded, and we kept walking.
"When you said 'we', do you mean that we will stay together?" I asked.
"Of course,  we are alike; and we can help each other. After all, we are going to live forever, we might as well have a little company for eternity." He said.
I smiled.  Maybe not being human wasn't all that bad.

Carlisle's POV

I feel incredibly guilty.

This wasn't supposed to happen, but I can't help but feel a small bit of joy.  Living forever was supposed to be my curse.  Now, I won't have to live forever all alone.
