~Chapter Nine~
Mitch's POV:
As we walked around the park, it got really awkward. People kept taking second glances at Alisha, like she wasn't human. I couldn't do anything, so I just stuck my hands in my pockets and walked along side her.
She cleared her throat. "Umm.. so.. are we just going to walk around the park in circles?" She had a point. We probably walked around the park about five times. I nodded in agreement, and we turned around, walking to the car.
I looked at my watch. 4:47. So much time left. I opened the door for her and she stepped in. "Are we going back to the hospital?" She asked as I walked around the car into the driver's seat.
"Your choice. If we do, want me to stay? I have plenty of time before I have to go to my hotel." She hesitated a bit, like she was debating.
"Sure." She mumbled.
"I don't have to if you prefer me not, I can come back later." I said.
She nodded. "Please. I need to be alone. I'm feeling a bit dizzy." She whispered, grabbing her head.
I might've sped a little to get to the hospital in time, but does it really matter?
"Thank you Mitch, I really had fun." She mentioned, not looking at me.
"Mhm. See you tomorrow Ali." I smiled at her and drove off.
Mitch. You're such a douche.
Alisha's POV:
I really shouldn't have lied to Mitch, but I really needed to tell Journey about what happened and think.
I walked to the front desk. "Oh, hello Alisha! Where is that boy you went on a date with? Mitch, is it?" Talia, the front desk lady searched for Mitch.
"He left, I had a headache." I lied again, I never lie.
"Oh honey, you better get to your room then, take an Aspirin or something." She smiled at me, motioning towards my hallway.
"Thanks." I muttered, stepping down the hallway. When I reached my room, I opened the door to find Journey staring back at me, just, waiting. I screamed, almost jumping out of my pants.
"Holy crap, Journey! You can't scare me like that! I'm a cancer patient, remember? Gonna have a heart attack." I lectured Journey, laying on my bed.
"I don't know how being a cancer patient makes you not able to handle a little scare." She giggled, a creepy smile spreading across her face.
"Ahh! Stop Journey! You're really starting to creep me out." I looked away from Journey.
She giggled some more and turned to me. "So, how was the date?"
Why is everyone calling it a date? We went out as friends. Well, more like strangers.
"Ok.."
"What do you mean "ok?" I would think more amazing, or fantastic, or lovestriking!"
"It's just, he just sees me as another fan. I mean, not another fan, that's not true. An alien. That's the word."
"Alien? What'd he say?"
I explained everything to Journey, from the car ride to the restaurant to the car ride back to hospital.
"Gosh.. Are we really aliens?"
"Maybe. Maybe not. We may never know, Journ. We just have to pray, and hope our short lives doesn't end with it being a living hell."
