When Zitha arrived home, the priestess was yet to return. Zitha was thankful that she wouldn't have to answer any questions.  She lay on her mat and thought about the man she'd rescued. Would he be alright on his own?  Who was he and where did he come from?

A while later a messenger came to her. "The priestess has sent me to tell you that she has urgent business to attend to in neighbouring villages and will not be returning for three days. She says that you are not to attend to any of the villagers in her absence."
When the messenger left, Zitha wanted to go back to the cave but she decided that it would best for her to go in the morning. She lay down and went sleep anticipating the morning to come.

Zitha sat in the cave across from the stranger she'd helped. He was still asleep but his condition had improved and he'd eaten all the fish broth that she made for him, thankfully she'd prepared more food for him before she left home. She was extremely curious about him and wondered where he came from. She crawled over to him and peered at his face, why was his skin so white? She reached out and touched his hair, it was so soft.  The strangers eyes suddenly opened and she was startled, she sat back and stared at him with wide eyes.

"You're awake" she said, he sat up and nodded. "And I'm a lot better thanks to you" he said.  Zitha nodded and blinked curiously, she still had so many questions to ask him but had no idea where to begin. "You don't have to be afraid of me,I will not harm you"

"How is it that we can understand each other even though we're speaking different languages, what are you?" She asked.   "So you've already figured out that I'm not human"

"Of course, how else would this be possible?"

"Very well, my name is Jae and I'm an angel what is your name?"

"My name is Zitha, why aren't you in heaven what are you being punished for?"

"What makes you think I'm being punished?" Jae asked.

"You were wounded and my healing powers would not work on you, that alone told me that you're a supernatural being who is being punished"  Zitha answered, she was beginning to feel a bit more comfortable around Jae.

" A fellow angel abandoned heaven, I was assigned to take away his wings and end his life." Jae said. Zitha had a feeling she knew what he was going to say next.  "You didn't complete your assignment did you?"  She asked.  Jae nodded  "I took away his wings but I couldn't kill him, he was my friend and I thought I could convince him to go back and beg for forgiveness. Since I failed to kill him I've been temporarily exiled from heaven with a portion of my abilities taken away" Jae said.

"So how did you get injured and how long has it been since you were exiled?" She asked.   "I've been on earth for three hundred years now and I got injured while fighting a demon"  Zitha's eyes widened "Three hundred years! I thought you said it was a temporary exile"
"It is"
"Isn't three hundred years too long to be a temporary exile ?"
"Not when you live forever, I'm sure my exile will be over soon" Jae said.

"I see, and how have you been spending your time on earth?" Zitha asked.   "You've got a lot of questions haven't you?"

"I'm sorry it's just that I've never seen someone like you before and I'm not really allowed to interact with other people unless I'm healing them" Zitha said and bowed her head in shame.

"Why is that?" He asked her.

"Well I was born on a day of sacrifice you see and I am a fraction of the soul of our Deity so I've been raised as the next priestess in training.  A priestess is not allowed to live as a normal human here, the people are meant to treat her as a mini goddess" Zitha answered.

Jae felt sorry for her, she must've been an incredibly lonely person.
"Does your life make you sad?" He asked her, she shyly nodded her head.  "Well then in that case I think you should leave the village and never return" he said.

Zitha stared at him in surprise, how could he even suggest such a thing where would she go and how would she survive when she'd never left the village before.

"Don't worry, you will not go alone I will be with you for most of the way" Jae said.

"I can't just leave this place, it's my home and I have a duty to the people" she said.

"Is it what you want?"  He asked.

"What I want does not matter, I was born for the sole purpose of being a priestess and nothing else matters" Zitha stood up and bowed  "I've prepared some food for you, I'll be back later"  She said and left the cave in a hurry.

When Zitha arrived home, the only thing that occupied her mind was the angels suggestion, she wanted to be a normal woman with friends and to one day get married just like other young girls in the village but what would happen to the village if she decided to forsake her duty?

She made some food and more medicine for Jae and then went back to the cave. Jae was asleep when Zitha got there so she put the food and medicine in a corner of the cave and then she sat beside him and stared.  "Staring is improper" Jae said and opened his eyes, Zitha moved back and cleared her throat.
"I was not staring , I was watching you to make sure that nothing happened to you, I've prepared some food for you and some medicine" she said and gave him the food and medicine.

"Have you thought about what I said?" He asked her as he ate.  Zitha shook her head "There is nothing to think about, I'm a priestess and nothing else so I cannot think about other things"  Zitha said.  "Zitha, what do want?" Jae asked.

"I want to fulfil my duty as a priestess" she answered.

Jae let out a frustrated sigh and stood up, he grabbed her hand and pulled her up then he led her out of the cave. He pulled her close to him and stared down at her, she was staring up at him with wide innocent eyes. "Put your arms around my neck" he said.  She frowned "Why?" She asked, she'd seen several girls hold their groom's like that so she wondered why he wanted her to embrace him in such a manner, surely he knew that was forbidden.

"Just do it" he demanded. Zitha obeyed him and he smiled at her, "Close your eyes" he said. Zitha did as she was told then she was suddenly hit with a gush of strong wind, she opened her eyes to find herself staring at Jae's large majestic white wings. Her mouth fell open and she wanted to step back but Jae held her in place.

"Hold on tightly, no matter what, don't let go"  he said and before Zitha could say or do anything, they shot up into the sky.
