When he was born, he had a defect with his vocal chords, making him a mute. Izuku grew up to be a great and smart kid. When he was three years old, he could write and "say" his name (through sign language of course). By the time Izuku was four, he went to the doctor to see if he had a quirk or not. He did, he was born with his mom's quirk, except there was a little mutation, he can set whatever he uses his quirk on, on fire. However, he cannot set any animal or human (and anything in between) on fire. The doctor called it Telepathic-pyrotechnics. A week later, Izuku had a play date with Bakugo Katsuki, his best friend.
"So Deku, do you have a quirk?" Bakugo asks. (Bakugo calls Izuku Deku out of irony)
Izuku nodded in response. Then he showed it off. He picked up a branch with his mind, and set it on fire.
"Woah! That's cool!" Bakugo exclaimed.
*fast forward a few years*
"All right! I was going to give you guys a career examination, but it's obvious all you guys wanna be heroes right?" A teacher was saying in the front of the class."Ha! Don't lump me and Deku with these extras teach! They're nowhere near out level, we'll be the first students from this school to get into UA!"
This agitated the class, then they looked at Izuku who was saying "don't listen to what he says! I think all of you guys are pretty great!" Which almost all of them understood.
*RING* The bell rang signifying the end of the school day. Bakugo walked towards Izuku and found him scribbling down notes on his signature hero analysis book.
"You really are a nerd aren't you?" Bakugo said.
Izuku looked up and smiled.
"Hurry up, my mom will get pissed if I'm home late." Bakugo says, making Izuku stop, close the notebook, fix his stuff and walked home from school with him.
