Death can worknin mysterious ways. And it can define what or who you can become when its darkness over takes you or your loved ones. After my mother died when i was four my father became a very abusive man controled by achahol. Every day I had always hoped that the bad things would go away including my fathers new friends. They Often came for regular visits while my dad was passed out on the couch, which made me become afraid of the dark. Event tho I was 16 and easily capable of getting help I knew that if I did my problems would become much worse.

At school I wasn't the most popular person I was able to make a few friends and even a boyfriend. I knew that thay cared but not enought for me to let them enter my life. And I knew that if I did then that would only drive them away. As I was getting ready for school I threw on the most simple yet cute outfit that I could. I really didn't care about my apperance or even what others thought. When I ws done getting ready for school I scurried down staris to grab a ouch when I noticed that the tv was on and that my father was aeep on the couch. As I tried to tiptoe out of the house my father opened his eyes and said

" where do you think your going?"

" I have scho dad and I was just on my way out without trying to wake you"

" that's fine now get out!"

As I left you house as I did everymorning I stopes and looked at my house. I remeber what it used to be like when mother was here things were just so different. As i gathered my things to leave lance my boyfriend pulled up in his car.

"hope in babe" he said

I got in his car and he gave my a long and very passionute kiss. He lips were warm and and soft they felt nice against my cold lips that had just come out of the cold winter air. He turned to me and asked

" why don't we skip school and go back to my house? My parents arn't home and my sis went with them so well have the whole place to ourself."

Lance you know that I can't do that. I have ti finish school and have to keep my grade up! I can't risk not getting that scholarship to university."

"fine" he said

"Your always making things so hard for me" he said

"I only want to express my love for you and show you that I truley care"

" well if you truley cared for me you'll have to wait. And beside someone is going ti have to look after you when were done high school.
