I felt real sleepy when we got back in the hotel. I took a quick shower then I hit the sack.

"Good night, Calix!" I said as I hid myself under the comforter.

"Sweet dreams!" He answered as he turned off the lights.

This is the first night that I did not cry myself to sleep. My parents are right. I just need a break. Hope everything will work well.

I woke up at around four in the morning feeling something weird in my tummy. I turned on the lamp at my side and hurriedly went to the bathroom. I felt really bad. I vomited. I thought my vomiting will end. I no am not drinking anymore and mostly I have full meals. Okay so it was only since last night that I started eating again.

"What happened to you, Alex?" Calix asked appearing at my back. I was not able to close the door since I felt the urgency to throw up. He handed me a glass of water and rubbed my back.

"Thanks. I don't know. I woke up with a weird feeling in my tummy."

"Not used to eating Korean food?"

I shook my head. I started eating a lot of Korean food since college but nothing like this happened. Perhaps because it's authentic. Maybe, I don't really know.

"Why are you up already?" I asked as I sat on my bed.

"Well, I heard you doing your thing there and thought of checking on you. Of course, I don't want anything bad to happen to my gorgeous roommate."

Gorgeous? That was sweet. I smiled saying, "Thanks."

"Can you still catch some sleep or would you rather we prepare for breakfast? We could also take a little walk," Calix offered beaming at me.

My heart started beating wildly. "Okay. A walk sounds great. I will go take a bath now."

"Great choice!"

We both finished dressing up a little before six. We walked outside near the hotel.

"You feeling better?" Calix asked as we were walking side by side.

"Yup. Thanks for asking. And thank you for earlier too," I said.

"Good. Thought you wouldn't make it to the tour later. That's a bit sad. No worries. I will be here for you, you know."

I feel my cheeks reddening. Hope he does not notice. Or if he does, hope he thinks it's because it's hot.

"Yeah, that would really be sad if I would just be locked in the hotel room alone," I answered though locking myself up was my first plan. But how can I do that with this kind of companion? I put a mental note to hug my parents when I get home and thank them for this wonderful trip. La la la la la.

"Of course, that would not happen. If you wouldn't make it I think I would accompany you and lock myself with you," He said smiling widely.

My heart melted. Why is he too sweet? We walked and chatted for another fifteen minutes then decided to have our breakfast at the hotel.

I plan to eat only a little afraid to upset my tummy again. I got only a piece of bread, a sunny side up egg and a glass of orange juice.

When Calix went to our table he put a plateful of food in front of me.

"You have to eat a lot you know. You threw out everything this morning and you need energy for the tour."

Wow! I am not only my Dad's princess now. I feel like a princess with what Calix is doing. Yes, someone can be sweeter than Zeke. My oh my. Mr. Brusque you are captivating my broken heart. Would you mend it for good? I was doing twirls in my head.

"Alright, thanks," I said and started digging on the plate he gave me.

We went back to our room to freshen up.

Meeting time is eight at the lobby. We went down and as we met with the eight others and our two guides, I was surprised that Calix held my hand as if signaling to the other guys that I am his. Argh... Can you hear my heart pounding so hard?

"Okay, everybody ready now?" Michel, our guy guide asked.

We all nodded.

"We are going to Gyeongbok Palace and National Folklore Museum in the morning and proceed to Korea Folk Village after lunch," Des, our girl guide added.

"We may have a buddy system to ensure that we are intact," Michel said looking at me.

I felt Calix tighten his grip on my hand and said, "Me and Alex will go together."

Michel nodded and looked at the others. Calix then looked at me smiling as he squeezed my hand. I felt secured. I smiled back as I enclosed the fingers of the hand is holding so tight. No, I won't let go, Calix.

We were holding hands almost the whole day. He would occasionally free my hand but would guide me with his hand at my back. I feel so special. I try to guard my broken heart afraid that it would fall for Calix easily and would end up being crushed again. But no matter how I shield it, it keeps on beating wildly with every sweet gesture of Mr. Brusque. Is he the knight in shining armor of this damsel in distress? After all, he is nothing near the real definition of the owrd brusque.

I enjoyed the first day of the tour. Not only because of the holding hands but it was over all fun. Tiring but worth it.

We had dinner then went back to the hotel. Good thing the others were not nosy and did not bother to ask who stays with who in the hotel.

"How did you find it?" I asked Calix as I put my bag on my side table.

"It was great. Only because I have the prettiest buddy."

"Nyark!" I said playfully throwing a pillow at him.

He laughed and threw it back to my bed.

"But It's true," Calix said sitting beside me on my bed.

I blushed.

He smiled and took my hand. "Don't think that I am taking advantage of this situation nor of the fact that you are broken hearted. When we bumped into each other at PowerBooks, I knew that there was something about you. I felt my heart skip a beat. And I told myself that one day I will find you and make you mine."

Am I hearing things or is this for real? Talk about love at first sight.

"Are you for real?" I managed to ask.

"I know it's hard to believe but I will do everything to prove it. I really like you a lot Alex."

I looked into his eyes and saw how sincere he was.

Tonight I slept guarding my chest; afraid that my heart would jump out of it and go running to Calix. But I did have a good night sleep. Maybe the first of many good night sleeps to come.
