"Who is it mom?" I asked staring at her.
"I don't know honey. I think we should, just ignore it." She said and with that started up the stairs with me right behind her.It was 12:00 and I was still awake. And it was a good thing it was a the weekend because I just couldn't sleep. No it wasn't the knock. I was just not tiered. I stayed awake till about 1:15 and finally went to sleep. And I'm pretty sure dad was home by now.
I woke up the next morning to the sound of kitchen things being rattled around at about 9. I headed downstairs to see and saw my mom dressed in her work outfit. "Mom?"
"Oh good morning honey, I just got a call from work, and I'm going to have to go. Oh and your dad probably left early this morning, he's not home. So you'll be home alone. But I'm sure you can handle it. Oh and one favor, please open the door for the mailman, he has a package to deliver. Just tell him to set it on the counter."
"Oh ok, um, well have a great day." I said as she ran out the door.
I decided to eat breakfast since I was up already. Then I went upstairs for a bit. It wasn't long when there was a knock at the door. I opened it thinking it was the mailman, as my mom had said there would be a package coming in. I opened the door and saw nobody. No mailman, no package. I shrugged it off and went to watch tv. A few minutes later I got a text from an unknown number. It said, " there's an empty bedroom upstairs waiting for me..." This text was when I started to panic. How did they know there was an empty bedroom upstairs? Was this person stalking our house? Why is it waiting for him? I quickly delete the message thinking its a joke or something. Then I locked all doors and windows in my house that I know of and then locked myself in my bedroom.
