Bloodtale Sans P.O.V
I remember that night like it was yesterday. It was late at night
Runt and I had been called to the palace by a distress signal from Frisk. As soon as we entered there was an eerie silence coating the hall , the golden floors of judgement hall the were covered in ashes where monsters had dissipated in a moments notice, there was a light scent of blood in the air, and Runt had a serious glint in her eye.
She went to each ash pile individually and picked parts of them. She would let them run through her hands like sand.
When I got brave enough I asked "Whatcha doin Runt?" she mumbled "Making sure none of them are Asreil," I nodded. Of course she would recognize his magical signature regardless if he was dead or alive. After all they are brother and sister. As usual short brown hair lay flat against her face, her slim figure barely filled the large, green and yellow sweater she sported, but her brown corduroy pants she wore were tailored to her exact measurements, her brown hiking boots were made for the deep snow of Snowdin, and her right hand gripped the knife handle that was sticking out of the belt top. She turned around to face me the lights simulating the sun outside made her fair skin and red eyes glow.
She mumbled "Ya ready Boss," I nodded "Let's go Runt," it was about time.
She was concentrating on the path ahead. Listening out for echos against the screeching silence of the castle. While I spent the time staring at the floor as we walked. Then she stopped she had stepped on something. It was Papyrus's old scarf. She took and wrapped around her neck it added a new found affect to her crimson glare. We continued walking I ran my skeletal fingers over the sun colored columns. I could hear slow foot steps approaching us from behind. Before I could let out a signal a blast of green magic soared past my ear.
I yelled "Chara," she whipped her head around to find it hurtling towards her. Runt jumped out of the way just in time. In response she turned and threw a knife their way. They cried in pain I ran over to them. I held them down as they attempted to get. Chara teleported behind him and held a knife to his throat.
She red eyes set a glow she hissed "Now my old friend what are you doing here?" he faced her. Then he spoke "You demon get your filthily hands off me," he was trying to put a struggle. I cast a spell as she distracted him it sank into his skin.
Then he mindlessly opened his mouth "I am James Harlo the last living descendent of the seven mages of Humanity I have come to finish what my ancestors started," he paused "The quest to destroy the royal order of the underground once and for all," his face full of pure hatred.
Before I could push any further. Runt decapitated him pushing the knife into his skin with an easy flick of the wrist.
I said "Hey! you killed our only source of information!" outrage filled my voice. She simply replied "He is the only one here," he was she was right I scanned the place and the only humans here were Frisk and Chara.
I could here a small demented voice saying "What's smily trash bag doing here?" Flowey that scum.
A soft and relaxed voice replied for me "Doing his job," it was Asreil his floppy ears rounded the corner.
His eyes were a piercing blue as they stared down Flowey, his cream colored fur looked to be glowing by the lighting, he wore the usual green sweater with one yellow stripe, his pants just like Runt's, and he was barefoot.
He looked relieved to be honest.
I asked "Where's Frisk?," he looked at me. Asreil said "I don't know I thought she was with you," that makes some sense.
Chara interjected "Well she's not she down by the Barrier," I was surprised a human could wield tracking magic so well.
But then again it's Runt and I should expect nothing less. She is exceeding in every magical art I can think of. She is the prefect balance between the soul and determination. I signaled for us to go down there.
But then Asreil piped up "Hey why don't we split up because...we don't know which part she's at," that crimson glare grew furious . Flowey giggled to himself he said "You should watch your mouth after all she was the one who supplied you with part of your own power," he ran in one direction trying to avoid confrontation.
Chara said "He has a point I guess," she seemed disappointed she adjusted the scarf.
Frisk's POV
I yelled for her keep going. I stared at Rose she was almost dead it looked like. She was on the other-side of the Barrier attempting to break through. She just let go I could feel her soul giving in. She used the last bit she had left and it didn't break still. Her body now lay limp, bloody, and torn to pieces. I cried quietly hoping that I didn't give away my location.
Then from the other side I heard a BOOM. A blue light filled my vision temporarily blinding me.
I heard a feminine voice say "Oh it actually worked..hmm," my vision slowly cleared. Two hands were holding my shoulders, they were fair hands, girl hands, and then I met a concentrated familiar crystal blue gaze.
A long fiery red fishtail braid, lay on the right side of her face, her delicate features only existed in portraits of royals, freckles coated her face, and I said "Maria is that you?" she nodded and asked "Frisk!" she just hugged my surface best friend was always right there.
