Chapter 2 -A+E
Ella's POV
"One thing off the list." Austin whispers in my ear when he comes down for breakfast in the morning making me giggle.
"It's not even ten in the morning you're not allowed to be giggling." My mom Cheryl says, coming out of the kitchen. "I made breakfast. Go help yourself." She says in her sweet voice.
"Thanks mom." I say and walk into the kitchen. My mom has outdone herself once again. She made us bacon, eggs, toast, sausages, hash browns. She must have woken up pretty early to be able to make this for all of us.
"So what from our list do you think we should do today?" asks Austin when he walks into the kitchen.
"How about go to the fanciest restaurant in town?" I half ask have demand.
"But we don't have anything fancy to wear to so that we wouldn't look weird in there." He explains. I then think back to the list and remember something.
"Are you trying to say that we should do the spend $500 each?" I ask him kinda surprised that he would do that already.
"Ya and we can make sure to buy some fancy clothes then go out some other night." He tells me.
"Sounds like a plan, now shake on it." I tell him.
We shake hands like we always have in the past when making deals. We both sit at the counter eating the breakfast that was prepared for us just talking and having fun like always.
Mine and Austin's moms had known each other for ever. Before the both of us were even born. They had been friends since they were in pre-school, and because of that Austin and I had been friends since we were born. We did pretty much everything together. We were at every single party for each other. Austin was there for me when my first boyfriend had broken up with me and I was extremely depressed. I was also there for him when his father passed away. Greg King had been like a second dad to me. We always knew how to cheer each other up and we had always been pretty good friends. The summer after Greg had passed away was the year Austin's mom and my parents decided to get the summer house. It had to have a minimum of six rooms because we all like our privacy and there are four kids, me, Austin, my brother Chace, and Austin's brother Hunter, and my mom and dad and Austin's mom. Where we wanted the summer house to be there was only one house available in the area and it had nine rooms. It was a very beautiful house and we were able to bring friends for a couple of days if we wanted to.
We both finish out breakfast and agree to leave at 12:30, which meant we had to go up to our rooms and get ready. I quickly got out of my pajamas and got on clean clothes. I went to the washroom and applied minimal makeup because Austin has already seen me at my worst. I go back into my room throw my makeup into my makeup drawer; grab my $500 off my dresser, and go downstairs with 20 minutes to spare.
I decided to help my mom out a little and tidy around the kitchen while waiting for Austin. When 12:30 comes around I'm surprised he hasn't come down from his room yet because he is never late to anything. I walk up the spiral stairs and down the hall to his room. His door is open ajar and I'm about to knock when I hear him talking to someone. Me being the nosey person I am, decides to stay and listen.
"Come on you know I'll get you the money... I could never do that to her... dude she's like a sister to me... even if I asked her she would never be up for it... if you dare come around me while she is with me I will kill you." Who is he talking to? I take a guess and I'm probably the she, he is talking about.
"Austin! It's 12:30 and I'm ready to go!" I yell without thinking.
"Man I'll get you the money but I have to go she's calling me to leave... I'll get you the money to you somehow just leave her alone." And with that he ends his conversation and I run down the stairs so he doesn't know I was eavesdropping.
"What took you so long? You're always punctual." I ask him.
"I had to deal with something." He replies in a low tone.
"And you're probably not going to tell me what. Ohh well do you have your money?" I ask him.
"Yep. Let's get in the car and go to the mall." He says forcing a smile.
The drive to the mall is a fun ride. Austin cheers up a soon as we get on the road and blast the tunes. Whoever he was talking to on the phone must not have been as bad as I thought because Austin is singing along with all of our favorite songs on our "summer CD" we call it.
"What store do you want to go to first?"' Austin asks me.
"How about the clothing store." I suggest and we both laugh. "We have to get something fancy for dinner first anyways."
"Does this mean you're going to make me wear a tux?" he asks me.
"Um ya. I'm wearing a fancy dress and you are wearing a tux." I say and stick my tongue out at him like a five-year-old.
We spend all day at the mall. I got a bunch of new clothes, some shoes, jewelry, and a bunch of useless stuff I'll probably never use. Austin got typical guys stuff, but we had a fun afternoon. We decide that it would 've best of we just ate at the mall so we both get poutine from New York Fries. It's days like this I'm glad I get to spend time with my friends and family.
