The children of the small village of Saint Maria were curious of the now docking pirate ship at the dock of their small village.
The Jolly Roger sat on top of the mast proudly as it waved around in the faint breeze. The children quickly became bored as they ran off to play with their toys and other children as their parents went about their life selling fruits of every kind to each other without much care to the pirate ship.A small boy, around the age of seven, sneaked around the place. not wanting to be noticed by the villagers as he hunted for food. His big brothers words whispering in the back of his head as he hid behind a black bag of trash.
'The villagers are brutal and unforgiving to those of our blood, stay away from them.'
His brother was never wrong about the villagers; so he didn't hesitate to stray away from them whenever they came close. His gloves that covered his hands squeaked slightly as he pulled down the hood of his cloak to cover his unnatural blue hair and golden marks on his face.
Looking around the corner to see if anyone was there, he found no one around. Turning to the black bag he undid the plastic tag around it, ripping bits of it but he didn't really care. dipping his hands in he pulled out a small, opened, packet of bread.
His eyes lit up as a small grin stretched over his lips, quickly, he shut the bag over before standing up. He hadn't even noticed he he sat down, his dirty white shorts hanging just above his scraped knees.
holding the packet in his hands, he hurried out of the alley and back towards the forests entrance. His small brown boots clicking against the gravel and dirt, the sounds muffled a few other footsteps behind him.
He only snapped out of his happy thoughts when the bread he held in his covered hands was ripped from him and thrown onto the dirt ground. He skidded to a stop as dust flew up into the air from the ground, he spun around with wide eyes as he stared up at the teens.
He watched them kick and squish the bread into the dirty ground, laughing as they did so. He gripped his hood tightly and took a few steps back, knowing that despite what he was and who his big brother was wouldn't help him in this situation.
"Monsters like you brats don't deserve food!" The middle one snapped, scowling at him as he avoided eye contact with the taller boy. He had heard that sentence hundreds of times before, they all had. "Even if it was from the trash."
He watched as they took steps forward with sickening grins and glares. He could feel the markings on his arms and hands pulse and burn slightly as he flinched away from them with wide, fearful eyes.
He could only stare in surprise as he watched the teens turn tail and run away with fearful expressions. He turned around to see a group of five, one of them had a straw hat and a scowl on his face, another had green hair and three swords strapped to his hips and dark skin, there was anotbet dark skinned male with curly brown hair wearing goggles and overalls. The last male had blonde hair, curly eyebrows and was wearing a black suit and smoking a cigarette. The last person he looked at was female, she had ginger hair and wore a short blue skirt.
He watched the group before taking a few steps back in surprise, they didn't look like any of the villagers so they must have been the pirates that came to the Island. His big brother hadn't said anything about pirates about from how brutal they can be, but he always mentioned a man with black hair, who's name he couldn't remember any more. His brother said he was a great man who had helped him many times he needed it, he had been sad when he couldn't go to save the man from his execution.
He tilted his head to the side, they had saved him but he still wasn't sure if they were good people or not.
"Hey, Kid." The one with the curly eyebrows spoke first as he tapped the ash off the cigarette. "You okay?"
He looked over everyone of the pirates carefully before deeming them no threat to him or his family. He nodded to his question, shuffling around on his feet nervously before placing his hands over his knees a bowing to the group.
"T-Thank you!" He spoke, stuttering as he wasn't use to speaking to anyone outside of his immediate family. He stood up after a few minutes, turning to look at the the bread that was mashed in with stones and other things with a frown, he had been hoping to find something to give to his big brother to help him, after all, he was the only one taking care of him and his brothers.
"Oh, right." Straw-hat grinned, hitting his fist against his open palm as he looked at him.
"What's you're name?"
