Mae's POV

I woke up with a headache.It might be because of the beating i got from my Stepfather.He is the last person alive in my family.

I got up and went in the bathroom to get ready for hell, sorry i mean school. I picked my outfit and quietly got out of my room so my stepfather won't hear me. As i was about to go out i  grabbed a granola bar from the kitchen cabinet.

I waited at the bus stop and finally the bus came,I got in and plugged in my earphones and listened to some music.

I got off of the bus and entered the hallway and saw Caleb my bully, I looked down and started walking to my locker but Caleb caught my arm and slammed me against the lockers, his grip tightened on my arms.

"Bitch you thought i wouldn't see you" he said.

I kept looking down,by this time everyone had gathered around us but not one helped me. He roughly grabbed my chin and said

"Look at me when i talk to you"

I looked at everyone around us and then i saw someone walking in our direction as soon as we made eye contact his expression changed to a concerned one. I somehow got out of Caleb's grip and ran towards the girls washroom..

After waiting for a while,I got out of the washroom and heard the bell ringing. I got to class and sat at my usual spot at the last. The teacher told us to write an essay,I was busy writing my essay when the teacher told us we have some new student.

They came in and i saw the same guy from the hallway and two more guys with him, then our eyes made contact and i immediately looked down. The teacher told him to come sit next to me because "i was a good student and would help him with his studies" blah blah and the others sat with some other nerds.

He came and sat next to me and let me tell you something he smelled really nice. The school's queen bee, Jenny was glaring at me.The guy turned towards me and asked.

"Whats your name?"

"Mae" i said.

He smiled at me that was something i haven't seen for a long time someone smiling at me. Then we started doing our work.

Finally the bell rang and i was the first person to get out of the class. I really wanted to get away from him he was being too nice to me,i know he will hurt me in the end. I ran and looked behind me saw him coming after me so i got into the girl's washroom.

I waited a little while and then went to my next class i took the last seat and i saw him coming in,I hid my head by placing a book in front of me but he saw me and came to sit next to me. He was about to say something but then the teacher came started teaching.

Jax's POV

I was walking down the hallway when my eyes met with a girl,i saw helplessness in her eyes, like she was on the verge of giving up everything, she reminded me of the younger me who was once like that. I saw her getting bullied, i was about to stop that prick but she was quick and got out of his grip.

Next i saw her in my class, the teacher told me to sit next to her, which I'm actually glad about, maybe i could be someone who helps her. I know what it's like to be alone and feel like ending it all. I'll help her.

I asked her name and smiled at her at which she seemed a bit surprised.

As soon as class ended she ran away, I went after her but I got the vibe she was avoiding me.

It was time for next class, i went in and saw Mae, she was trying to hide from me but i still sat next to her.

The bell rang and it was recess, she ran away this time too. I wonder why she keeps doing this. I hope she doesn't think that I'll hurt her.

Mae's POV

I got out of the classroom in a rush, since i wasn't paying attention to where i was going, i slammed into someone and fell down guess who it was, Caleb, he and his friends started laughing. I got up and was about to go when he roughly grabbed my wrist making me wince.

"Oh, does that hurt?",he mocked.

"Yes, can you please let go", i answered.

"You know this is why i hate you, why do you have to be such a weak little bitch?",he said with anger.

Suddenly i was pulled out of his grasp. It was the new guy who helped me.

" Man why are you being such a prick?", He said.

"It's none of your business,so you better beat it", Caleb said.

"Now now how can i leave just yet, i gotta teach you a lesson first" ,he told him with a smirk.

He turned towards me and asked, "Don't I, love?"

"Uhh", was my lame reply.

"You go on your way now, I'll take care of him", he said with a smile and brushed a strand of hair behind my ear.

I got out of there as fast i could and tried my best not to think much about what just happened.

This is the edited version of this chapter , I'm going to edit the next chapters as well so please bear with me. I'm doing all this to make it a better story than it was before, i was just reading the old version and i thought i might have a heart attack ,i mean what was up with that cringy shit lol ,what was i thinking when i was writing this 😂
