---On the day of the mishap ---
Time:- 10:00 am.
Location:- Jeon Villa.
It was the night before the 2nd anniversary of their marriage. Seokjin had noticed that his husband has been quite grumpy and disagreeable off late, so he didn't know whether it would be a good idea to commemorate their nuptial day or not but his mother-in-law, Mrs. Jeon had other plans in store for him.
"Darling, what are your plans for your wedding anniversary?" asked Mrs. Jeon. The only two inhabitants seated in the patio were Mrs. Jeon and her darling son-in-law, whom she loved more than her elder son.
"Nothing much, mother. Maybe a family dinner at my father's restaurant like every year? We can try appa's new signature dish." Seokjin said with uncertainty.
"Goodness! Jin dear, why are you're so naïve? I mean what about spending time together, just the both of you?" Mrs. Jeon facepalmed. Her adorable son-in-law was way too pure and innocent for the world.
A blush crept up the mound of his cheeks. Surely, the thought never crossed his mind. "I- I never gave a thought about it though."
"Jin dear, you need not worry. I have booked a table for two at the new restaurant opposite to Lake Seokcheon. You know, where you had your first date." She winked at the younger male.
"What?" Seokjin's eyes doubled its size. "Why, I mean how did you know that?"
"Well, I may or may not have stalked the both of you at the lake with my camera. You know, I had to gather evidence that my son was actually being nice to my future son-in-law instead of a d-" She caught her tongue in between her two sets of teeth to avoid the curse word that was about to roll out of her mouth. "I mean a brat." She breathed out a sigh of relief when she realized that the younger didn't question her much. For obvious reasons, she wouldn't want detriment his naivety.
"Thank you so much, mother!" Seokjin enveloped the older woman in a warm embrace. "I may have lost my mother at a very young age but you have filled that emptiness in my heart." A tear escaped the younger's eye.
"There there, you go making me all emo. That's enough." She patted his back. "Now off you go and have a good sleep. Tomorrow you have a long day ahead. And don't forget to inform him." She pecked his forehead before departing the backyard.
---
The next morning, Mrs. Jeon found Seokjin sitting all alone in the living room, immersed in deep thoughts, with his hands on his chin. She didn't fail to notice the slight hint of sadness reflected in his eyes.
"Jin? What happened dear? Did you inform him last night?"
"Um... yes, but he lashed out at me. He was busy with work." Seokjin replied in a small voice.
"Aish that brat! Did he even wish you this morning?" anger reflected in her tone. Had Jungkook been right there, she would have slapped him hard for his misbehavior.
"Umm... actually, mother, he left early this morning...but don't you worry, I will try asking him again and I am very sure that he won't refuse." Seokjin assured her with a fake smile, though there was a small fear of rejection lurking somewhere in the corner of his heart. He was smiling through his pain.
"But Jin dear w-...." Before Mrs. Jeon could say anything, her son-in-law cut her off.
"I am getting late, mother, I should leave right now. See you at night..." He abruptly got up from his seat but he slumped back into his chair again, as he felt lightheaded, his fingertips were gently massaging his temples.
