Dans POV
I wake up to silence and walk down my stairs. "Katie?" I ask. There was no response, so I check the couch. I lift up the blanket and say "Dang it...". She wasn't there. Only the scent of her vanilla bean perfume. I pull out my phone and text Katie:
Dan: Where are you?
Katie:Um... whose this?
Dan:Your boyfriend? Stop messing around Katie!
Katie:Excuse me? This is her husband. Who the h*** are you?
Dan:Shoot... s-sorry.... wrong number..
I put my phone back in my pocket and make some tea. I grab my coat and start my car. I track down Katie's location and speed down to the house. I stop at a pearl white house and look through the window and see a blonde man walk up the stairs. I get out my car and knock on the door. A little girl calls out "There's a blue haired man outside, Mommy!" "Coming Lily!". I hear footsteps approaching and the door flings open with Katie and a little girl inside. "S***. Get upstairs Lily." Katie's says. "Otay Mommy!" Lily says as she runs upstairs. "What are you doing here Dan!?" Katie yells. "Who's there, Katie?" A man says as he runs down the stairs. "We have to ta-" Katie says but is cut off because she slams the door on my face. I hear yelling inside and make out some words. "He's my ex-boyfriend and kidnaped me yesterday, Nate." Katie says. She opens the door again and says "Leave Dan..." "We've called the police already. Leave." Nate says calmly. I back away slowly and open my door and drive back to my house.
