I came to a conclusion. I HAD too tell my group. But what if they reacted in a way thats unthinkable? What if they kill me? Or even throw me out of their group? I dont know...But anyways, all i was thinking about was if i should tell them. If i should tell them that i'm a firefly? My brother lead the group, but he would be sickened that im a firefly since they killed our mother. I really had no choice, they interrogated me.
It was late, and everyone was sat aroud the fire telling stories, Emily went hunting with Rodney, and they came back with two rabbits. There was five people in our group, all very young except my brother and Emily. It was i, 14. Rodney, 16. Emily, 19. Mac, 10. and my brother, Cody, who is 20. Me and my brother have NEVER gotten along. It's always been a dark relationship between us, although. Me and my sister, Elle have always had a great relationship as siblings. She's not dead nor is she infected, she chose too stay with my dad at the camp in Pittsburgh.
We've just finished our cooked rabbit, and suprisingly it wasnt that bad! I've always been that "sneaky" and "stealthy" type, also i'm very crafty with my supplies so keep that in mind.
My eyes open to a white glare, my eyes are adjusting the bright sunny day outside. I slept in a car with my brother, it wasnt ours, it was just one we found, broken down as usual. The others rested their tents.
Everyone grabs their things, and gets ready for another darn three too four hour long walk. Before we leave, i quickly scavenge in my bag, searching for tools too craft a trusty shiv. I am very good with it, but im aweful with long ranged weapons. And there i had it, my crafted shiv. Hopefully it has some durability, otherwise it wouldnt be a great stealth weapon too use...
We're walking along the edge of a long, never-ending road. Wierdly enough, we're all in a single file, which reminds me of primary school, where the teachers told us too "walk in a single-file!" if we were going a school trips. I miss school, it was fun while it lasted. Mac winged that his legs were hurting, and that he was thirsty, he was really annoying. But he was like a little brother too me, so i could'nt ignore him. I told them too "Wait up!". I grabbed my water canteen from my bag and passed it too him, i asked "Where's yours?" and he shrugged. I zipped my bag back up and told them i'm going for a whiz, i headed to the forest beside the road, and spied for a hidden spot. I find a tree, covered by leaves, with bushes surrounding it. I headed over too it but, something gripped onto my arm, dragging me too the floor. "Argh!". It was infected. I sqwirmed terribly, i was buried in the leaves that i could barely see the thing attacking me. I realised i had a shiv tucked in my belt, my hand manages too slide under it's body and down too my belt, as i grab my shiv, a gunshot is fired and the thing that had lounged on me had stopped moving. I push the body off me, and i get up wiping my knees...I look up too find my brother stood there, tall and fearless. He was holding his Semi-Auto Rifle, he asked if im okay and i nod slightly. "Why was you watching me anyway?" I say with no hesitation. He answers sternly and strictly, "Well, im not leaving my little defenseless brother alone, am i? Who knows what could happen..." He was 100% correct, and i knew it myself. The anger built up inside of me because he's right, and he always is...Could this be jelousy? I dont know, but whatever it is i dont like it...
We head back too the road, and meet back up with the others.
