I just lay there. Unsure of what was happening. Everything around me blurry. I could feel my heart pounding to keep me going but every time it did I felt as though I was being punched with the force of a door slamming by a miserable, furious teenager after being told she can't meet up with her best friend tomorrow. After a few moments passed I managed to get the strength to pull my self up to see blood pouring from my hip area and spreading across my grey t-shirt like a contagious disease spreading across the country like a Mexican wave. Frantically, my eyes began searching around me for someone to come to my aid but no one seemed to be around.
I slowly struggled to take my jacket off and press it down hard on my wound to stop the bleeding whilst calling out for help. It wasn't till a few minutes later that a young girl came by. She heard me calling and ran towards me with huge concern on her face, her brown hair blowing behind her from the ghastly wind coming from the crooked trees behind me looking down on me and laughing at my pain and suffering.
The young girl knelt down beside me holding my jacket tightly on my intensely bleeding hip with her left hand and typing into her mobile phone with her right calling for help I assumed. I couldn't hear well at this point but I cold just make out what she was asking me. "Stay with me gorgeous!" Cried the young girl.
"It hurts a lot!" I replied back securing my hand into a secure fist digging my nails into the palm of my hand.
"I know, she said but I need you to focus on something other than the pain. How about something exciting you're doing this weekend," explained the girl.
I began to lighten up in that moment because not only was I doing something great on the weekend but she gave me hope as if she knew hat I was going to make it out of this situation alive which gave me hope and I felt stronger. Moments later I hear ringing sirens coming from the south side of town coming closer and closer which I was forever thankful for because I was now reaching maximum pain and was starting to find it hard to breathe. An ambulance team rapidly slid me onto a stretcher and carried me into the back of the blinding ambulance.
As I was being lifted into the ambulance, I took a quick glance behind me to say thank you to the girl who had helped save my life and there she was smiling at me still trying to reassure me everything was going to be okay and it really did put a smile on my face to see someone who was a total stranger help ME in that way. I gave a smile back and whispered the words thank you to her.
