I have always believed in a higher being, a God, a savior.
We are always taught differently at school and in public. To just believe in our hearts and to try to be the best we can be. Of course there were those people who did believe as I do but it never was really forced on anyone in the dimension. We were just, supposed to lead ourselves to the right path.Who knew that I would take exactly the WRONG path.
As I wake up to the sound of my screaming alarm that has been trying to wake me up the past 15 minutes I decide to actually take on life and all of its responsibilites. It is surprising that my younger sister, Opal, hasn't woken up yet. She was definitely more of a morning person then I was.
"Hey Clara." I see my sister walk out of the bathroom jolly and flouncy as she calls me by my nickname (no one has the time to always say Clarimonde). She must have talked to her boyfriend this morning.
"I see that you are in a good mood, did you sleep well?"
"Oh the norm." Opal says in a rushed and nervous voice.
I know I am not her mom, but I have always been the person to protect her. Our mother died when I was 8 and when she was 4. My dad had taken care of us when he wasn't working (which wasn't often) and I was pretty much the only older women in my darling sisters life. I knew that something was up with her.
"Opal is there something wrong? You seem tense today. Any tests going on, anything?"
Opal looked away just as she was finishing her curled short hair and her left eye of makeup. "No... I don't know... I guess I.... Everything is fine."
I looked away. I knew that she didn't want to talk to me about this. It must be something that was a secret or something important to her. I didn't want to pry.
"Clara..." Opal said disheartened. I had never seen her this sad since mom had passed on. She was always the one who kept it together, the one who could joke after an embarrassing situation, the one I could lean on when I needed help. "I guess I am just... Kind of... Scared."
I look at her in fear, "Why are you scared? Did something happen?"
Opal looked confused,"Don't you know?"
"Know what?" I say also confused now.
"That you are being sent to Earth tomorrow."
