Forbidden Love (A Legolas x Aragorn story)

Chapter 14

(Everything from now on is 3rd person :) )

Gracefully, the brown haired elf maiden ran through the long halls of Imladris to meet her father and Aragorn.

They were back! Joy rushed through her. She had missed them so much; especially Aragorn.

She spotted them from a window and dashed down the marble stairs. "Ada!" Arwen cried, running into his arms. "Where have you been?" Behind Elrond, Gandalf motioned for Legolas to retire before Arwen saw him. He nodded and slipped away unnoticed.

Aragorn stood awkwardly, waiting to be acknowledged. After Arwen had finished greeting her father, she ran over to the brown haired human and kissed him passionately. Aragorn stood still, shocked, before kissing her back.

From a window, Legolas watched, his heart sinking rapidly. It would never work. It couldn't work. Aragorn and Arwen were destined to be together and he couldn't change that: it wasn't fair on Arwen or Aragorn. Aragorn was mortal and he was elfkind - the pain of losing his love when the man died would be too great.

So, when the others were busy, Legolas packed his bag and weapons before going to the stable, mounting Arod and riding away: to Mirkwood and back to his father to forget all about Rivendell.

"Novaer, Aragorn." He whispered, almost to himself. "Naethen."

Ok I know that it's short but short uploads and frequent uploads are better than long uploads uploaded less frequently right?

Also it felt like a good chapter end :)
