Those eyes, they haunted me.
The colour reminded me of emeralds or Caribbean oceans.
They were beautiful.
"Elle, are you alright?" Juliette asked softly, touching my arm.
"I don't know." I answered honestly, plonking myself on our purple leather sofa.
“You should have seen the way he was looking at you!” Juliette sighed; she had always been a hopeless romantic. “The way that who was looking at her?” Lukas asked, appearing from the kitchen with a handful of muffins. Juliette had given him water and coffee to sober him up. “This guy,” she started excitedly. “This guy we saw in the bar.” She held her hand out and Lukas threw a chocoltae muffin to her, which she just about managed to catch.
“Why didn’t you say Elle?” Lukas teased, poking me in the ribs. He sat beside me and started scoffing his muffin down, swallowing loudly and eating with his mouth open.
“Shut up!” I growled, swatting his hand away.
“You had a connection!” Juliette said dreamily.
“She has been reading way to much Twilight.” Lukas stage whispered in my ear, I smiled. Juliette had read the twilight saga's so many times that she was comparing every day situations with chapters. It got sort of annoying but I still loved her for it. She was my best friend.
“Look, it’s not like I’m ever going to see him again.” I sighed feeling my heart sinking in my chest. I wish I had spoken to him and not beeen such a coward!
“Never say Never!” Juliette smirked.
* * * *
“Now this is what you call a good song!” I giggled, turning up Juliette’s cute small radio.
“Oh! Niall’s voice is so perfect!” Juliette giggled, flopping onto her bed and scattering her many pillows.
“You are obsessed with Niall Horan.” I groaned sitting beside her.
“How can anybody not be?!” Juliette asked incredulously. She sat up and looked at me with wide eyes.
“I'm not!” I laughed throwing a pillow at her.
“Oh, I forgot. You have tall, blond and mysterious!” Juliette teased with a grin.
“He was gorgeous!” I admitted putting my hands over my heart.
“So is Niall.” Juliette said quickly. She jumped off the bed and made her way towards her massive Niall poster, I laughed as I saw her sigh.
“You know, you almost have the same eyes.” I observed walking over to her. Juliette was beautiful; she had chocolate brown hair and a choppy fringe. Her eyes were a piercing sky blue and her skin was fair with a rosy blush.
“It’s meant to be!” Juliette moaned jokingly and dramatically.
“When you get married to him I call chief bridesmaid!” I yelled, jumping back on her bed.
"As if that's going to happen. At this rate I'm not going to marry anyone. Hey, remember that guy who used to be in your literature class? The ginger one? Get me his number. If I'm still single when I'm forty I'll give him a call." I couldn't tell whether or not she was joking. It was a shame I didn't remember the ginger boy from my literature class.
“You are unbelievable!” I laughed, rolling my eyes. “You’re almost as bad as Lukas."
“No one can be as bad as Lukas!” Juliette snorted as she took a seat beside me.
“What are we going to do with that boy?” I giggled reaching for my phone to see I had two messages from him. “Speak of the devil.”
I kissed Lucy last night and she slapped me! What is wrong with girls?! Do they not see what I have to offer?! I'm Lukas for goodness sake!
I mean, I only used a little bit of tongue! OK and I might have put my hand on her arse, but she was totally into me! What is wrong with girls!?
Why can't they just be normal!?
“The poor girl.” I laughed as Juliette read the texts over my shoulder.
“What was Lukas thinking?” She gasped grabbing my phone off me and typing back furiously.
“Lukas doesn’t think! That’s the problem.” I sighed, laying down and staring up at the ceiling.
“Well he’s going to have a very nasty surprise when he opens his next text.” Juliette grumbled. Juliette rarely hid her opinions. Especially whne something offended her. In this case, it was Lukas' lack of respect for women kind.
“Hey, Juliette? Do we have any Nutella?” I asked with a smile.
“I thought you would never ask.” Juliette laughed, handing me back the phone before taking me downstairs and into the kitchen.
“Two spoons are all we need.” Juliette tossed me a spoon from the cutlery draw which I easily caught. I opened the over-sized jar to reveal the heavenly chocolate substance before we both plunged our spoons into it. “Delicious.” Juliette sighed.
“This is Heaven.” I agreed before we continued to devour the whole lot.
