What has been Done cannot be Undone...
Leesha had gone and started a fire near the front of the cave to create light as the evening was fast approaching and it was becoming much cooler. He then came back over to where Fiyr was still holding Nkoaviv's dead body. She was still sitting on her knees, the bottom of her robes absorbing some of the crimson pool that had formed on the dusty cave floor. She was speaking softly to him, her voice shaking with emotion as she cradled him and caressed his cold, distorted face.
"Yea...It's gonna be alright child...I promise...We're goin' home...you an' meh...we're goin' home...I never should'ave let them take yeh out here...this place...this place is poison...But they can't stop us now...can they...? You're free now...and I'm gonna be free now too...I won't leave ya alone roaweh...Your mauweh's goin' ta be with yeh soon...I promise...but let's go home first...back ta our lands child...back ta where we belong..."
Leesha squatted behind Fiyr and listened to her words. She kept repeating the same phrases over and over again so Leesha after a moment or two, got a very clear picture of her intentions. Not that he could blame her for what she wanted to do, but he knew the Darkone's death was his fault alone and he had to do whatever he could to help Fiyr want to continue living, even if it took him the rest of his life.
Leesha gently put a hand on her shoulder and felt her become still. Her body, full of tension. He exhaled slowly and then said, "...Fiyr..." Leesha felt his emotions twisting up inside him just from saying her name. The weight of his guilt was already riding him. He swallowed and continued, "...Fiyr...I...All of this...all of this...is my fault...I am so sorry, I failed him...I failed you...Please...please, let me help you..."
Fiyr started rocking again and said, "...I...I can never forgive meh-self for this...I was supposed ta protect him...keep him safe..."
"It's not your fault...it's mine..." Leesha said sadly, "I was so...so selfish...I just wanted what I wanted...I didn't care how it affected you or him...I just wanted my brother to find love...and I thought, your roaweh...being so gentle and helpless...would teach him how to love...but strangely enough...Hirosha figured it out himself...He just needed the right circumstances..."
Fiyr listened and said, "Yea...then perhaps meh roaweh's death was not for nothing...He was destined ta be taken from meh...there was no power on Elchior that could prevent it..."
"...What can I do to begin to make this right...?"
"...I need ta take him home..."
"Then...let me help you."
