*picture of Neha's saree above*

Neha sighed, feeling utterly bored. The reason her mom had called her all of a sudden was to arrange a surprise dinner for her sister, who was celebrating her second anniversary. She called a few of their closest relatives and now they were all gathered around her sister, who stood smiling with her husband by her side. Neha put on a fake smile and later made a hasty escape upstairs to the balcony.

The cold breeze soothed her and she sat down on the swing that her dad bought many years ago. She looked outside and saw the empty street and trees lining on it's both sides. As she stepped out onto the street she saw a person walking towards her home. As he came closer she saw his face and gasped. In a second she was rushing downstairs and out onto the street.

"Suraj what are you doing here?"

Suraj just stood infront of her and didn't utter a single word. Neha was about to go back into the house when suddenly he grabbed her hand and pulled her behind a tree, hiding them from plain sight.

He held her arms and looked at her intensely for a moment. But before Neha could say anything or push him away, his lips were on hers. The sudden kiss surprised Neha and she opened her mouth in shock. Suraj taking full advantage of that deepened the kiss.

Neha couldn't push him away. She hooked her arms around his neck and brought them closer, so that their chests were touching. She moved one hand to the back of his head and pulled his hair lightly. Suraj moaned and slammed Neha into the tree, his lips devouring hers. They had no idea how long they kept on kissing but finally Neha put her hand on his chest and he pulled away, both gasping for breath.

"How could you leave me all of a sudden?" Suraj almost screamed at her.

"I... I didn't know what to say. The kiss... it just happened."

Suraj finally calmed down and held Neha by her waist. He touched his forehead with hers and  sighed. Neha closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

"Neha we really need to talk," he whispered.

Neha looked up and saw Suraj's eyes staring at her, pleading her to say something. The guy travelled all the way from Mumbai, just to talk to her.

"It was a mistake Suraj. I don't know why I did it. It just, it won't happen again. I'm sorry." Neha looked away. She very well knew what she did. It was sudden but it was not a mistake. She still loved him. But would she tell him that? No.

"Mistake? What we had was not a mistake Neha. And if that was a mistake then why the hell did you kiss me now? Was this a mistake too?"

"Yes. Everything we do together is a mistake, you told me that," each word that Neha said hit Suraj's heart like stones. "I need to go Suraj."

Every muscle in him wanted to hold her back. Every nerve in him told him to kiss her senseless. He loved her with every inch of his heart, but his own words haunted him now.

Everything we do together is a mistake...

He sighed deeply and loosened his grip. "Fine."

Neha slid past him and adjusted her outfit.

"You look beautiful by the way," he whispered behind her. Even under the dim moonlight Suraj noticed how amazing she looked in a red saree.

Neha froze. Slowly she turned around and asked, "Why did you come here?"

Suraj was about to say that he wanted her back when Neha's mother came out of the house and saw Neha.

"Thank goodness here you are. I've been looking for you. Dinner's about to start and there's someone you should meet Neha. A perfect match for you dear..." she suddenly stopped as she saw Suraj standing behind her daughter.

"What are you doing here?" she said with a bitter tone in her voice.

"Ma, I think we should go."

Neha led her fuming mother back to the house. She looked back and saw Suraj's eyes watching her with an emotion she didn't recognize. Hurt, anger, sadness, what was it?

She turned back and saw a guy standing at the doorway. He was about her age, tall and fair, with chiseled features, and intelligent eyes that clearly shone beneath the rimless glasses. He stood confidently wearing a white shirt with grey jacket and faded jeans.

"Ah, just the one I've been looking for. Neha you remember Aniket don't you? Your Susmita aunt's nephew, it's been so long since you two met. He also stays in Mumbai, isn't it great? He came today just to see you." She smiled at him like Neha had just won the freaking jackpot. "Well you two kids talk. You know, get to know each other. I'll set up the table." And she went away happily, leaving her and Aniket all alone.

Uh oh. One look at Aniket and she realized why her mom actually called her here. She had been playing cupid all along. Who knows she had probably planned her engagement party with Mr. Scientist already. Neha sighed. Why on earth did she agree to arrange marriage, she only knows.

She turned to Aniket and smiled warmly, "So where do you live in Mumbai?"

And with that they talked casually until dinner was served. Aniket was a really nice guy, and Neha probably found a good friend in him, but the whole time her mind drifted to those eyes full of emotion staring back at her. "Shit, I'm in trouble." Neha thought as she watched her mom grinning happily at her and Aniket sitting beside her.
