The Missing Irene | Bk.1

The River pt.1

           

Bella lets out a sigh in relief, her life might as well just have flashed before her eyes. If she didn't get out of her friends grip something would have been broken for sure if she was hit with as much force as her friend. Yet, AJ still was smiling like a maniac.

Ryder had pinned AJ down at this point. He stuck a mud caked finger in the air and flicked her forehead. "Don't tell me to lighten up, kitty cat."

Bella turns her head at the slight movement in the corner of her eyes. River, Koda, Hunter, Eren, Wind and Jee were turning red at the sight going on behind her. Bella turns to see Ryder bend down and plant a small kiss on his lover's forehead. Although the two were dating, it was not definitely not something you saw everyday.

Bella starts towards Max, who looked as though he might pass out from silent laughter. Upon seeing the girls figure, he opened his arms welcoming a warm embrace. Bella silently wishes to live in the moment forever. Her friends all seemed overjoyed and happy. She was truly happy to be surrounded by friends. The way the sun was sat in the sky highlighted Max's smile and his welcoming arms. It was the perfect moment in time.

Surely, none of her friends would forget this moment.

Max expression quickly changed as Bella snapped out of her daze to feel wind rushing through her hair. Her feet were no longer moving, but her body was. She was sliding on the mud at a rapid speed, heading straight towards-

WHAM!

She slams right into Max's chest his arms now around her waist as the two fell backwards and straight into a muddy puddle. Max lay back in the mud while Bella on top of him. Instead of getting up, the couple started laughing so hard that Bella fell off max and into the mud puddle as well.

At this point it seemed only the two existed. The sound of AJ and Ryder throwing mud and arguing with each other faded. The sound of all their friends laughter faded. Everything just faded away but the two.

Max propped himself up on his right elbow and looked over at Bella. He had stopped laughing and was simply staring into her humorous blue eyes. Still giggling the girl looked at him and asked, "What is it?"

He took his left hand and wrapped it around the back of her neck. "I just can't believe how lucky I am to have you, out of all the guys after the daughter of Irene I was surprised you chose me." The werewolf breathed out as he leant down, giving the girl a small kiss.

"Ugh, get a room!" River shouted. Followed by a couple of gagging sounds by Hunter and Koda and a small 'hmph' from Bella.

"Stop causing trouble where it isn't needed!" Wind says, smacking her boyfriend right in the center of his head.

Max looks back to Bella and gives her a smile and helped her up.

"Looks like were going to need a bath." Bella giggling at the appearance of her and her friends.

"Come on let's go." Bella says and heads of the small trail that is there and into the trees.

"Umm Bella don't you think we should stick to the trail, it would be a lot safer." Her sister replies to the girl who is waiting for her friends to follow.

"Aww come on wind where is your sense of adventure? Besides we need to get clean don't we." Bella responds to her sister.

"I say go for it, if we get lost we can have the werewolves track down the way home." Jee says as she starts to follow her friends, with AJ not to far behind.

Eren quickly follows scooping the girl up onto his shoulders and running in front of Bella. "Ya, come on guys lets have an adventure!"

Bella looks back from a giggling Jee and a smiling Eren to her other friends who start to follow.

Bella's ear's perk forward as the sound of a slow moving river can be heard. "We're almost there! Hey Hunter do you think you could make a small fire to dry out cloths when we are done?"

Fire engulfs the male's hand as he gives her a smile. "Of course! Who do you think your talking to?"

"Sweet, that way we can dry out clothes!"

"Ok, you two have like an unlimited amount of clothes that you can just automatically switch into, but what about us?" Eren questions with Jee still on his shoulders.

"Luckily, I brought some extra clothing for all of you." Bella says, as a black duffel bag shows up in her hand.

She turns around continues walking. A couple of minutes later they reach their destination of a slow moving stream.
