PART 1

My name is Miles Katigbak. If nothing will happen to me when I write this, I’d probably be an alumni in STSN, batch 2010-2011. Something happened right now in third year that cannot be explained by normal means. Yes, something terrifying that needed to be kept a secret.

My best friend,Kyle Cabunuan, gave me his project for MAPEH: a documentary. I asked why. He said he have “grown tired” of it. I asked him if I can keep it, since it’s his work after all. It took him a while to answer my question, then he looked at me with his tired eyes.

“Wag. Itapon mo yan. Lahat. Sunugin mo pagkauwi.”

Not a shred of humor is in his face. He’s sort of a jokester. But this time, he’s really serious. Something happened in him that he can’t bring himself to destroy this video by his own hands.

But me, being a good friend, decided to just keep it. A few days later he told me his family’s moving to Canada as his dad got promoted there. Everyone was sad; Kyle’s a popular student and a great musician in their student band. Especially me. So a few weeks passed by I accompanied him to the airport with his family. Before leaving, he asked me this.

“Miles… hindi mo tinago yung documentary ko di ba? Sinunog mo na, di ba?”

I lied and said I did that. He boarded the plane and finally left.

I haven’t heard from him for months. Emails, messages, even his Facebook account… nothing. One night, out of sheer curiosity and missing my best friend, I connected his video camera to my laptop and watched the video.

      (…continue to next page)

It was a documentary of an incident in STSN, an incident that wasn’t talked about so much even I forgot the details.

November of 2005. 3 intermediate students suddenly did not went to class for weeks. Their parents came in and confirmed they were missing. The Filipino teacher from the intermediate department as well went missing the day the 3 students did. By the end of the school year, the police gave up on finding them. However, at the last day of class, a hidden compartment of that Filipino teacher’s locker saw horrifying files and documents.

It’s about some sort of paganistic religion. Their god was named “Ang Manliliso”… numerous writings and papers as well were discovered. And among those was a single piece of paper, with these words:

“Iniaalay namin sa ‘yo, Manliliso, ang tatlo sa Iyong mga anak, upang buhayin  muli bilang liso sa lupa ng kasalanan.”

Signed, on that paper, were the names of the three children with their handwriting, and the teacher herself.

His documentary ended when he went to an unknown building, to meet up with somebody, who claimed that knew what really happened to the three kids. As he open the door, he enters a dim room, his camera getting shaky (most of the scenes were taped by himself.) Someone walked beside him. Kyle gasped and dropped the camera to the ground.

“Kayo?...” His last words before the camera faded promptly to static.

I was shocked. All I remember in that story was they disappeared and the teacher transferred to another school. But not a soul, not even the teachers told anyone about this. Where did Kyle get this? He’s not the kind that invents stories to gain grades. To where and who?
