We met just yesterday it seems,
Despite knowing each other for much longer.
I can't help but gaze at the way your eyes gleam,
Allowing me to see how our lives will augur.
So much in common, you and me,
Maybe we will run away and head out to the sea.
We will travel the world, leave nothing unseen.
Hey! Maybe one day, we will even meet the queen.
Similar dream linger in our brains,
Knowing where they will end, but not begin.
Your first though was to hop on a train,
Getting drunk on a bottle of old gin.
Then much later we will finally settle,
Returning to the ground like a fallen flower petal.
We will put to use the years spent learning,
Getting jobs to finally begin earning.
That's when the time will be right,
For we will expand our small group of two,
But during that time we will once again take flight
However this time, it'll be us and you.
