I woke with a gasp. I felt the tears streaming down my face. What the hell was the meaning of that dream. I glanced across the room at my glow in the dark wall clock. 5:23, I got up and walked over to the window opening up the curtains. I ran my fingers through my hair and began to watch the sky change colors and the sun come up slowly over the horizon. I turned around and exited my room going toward the bathroom to take a shower. I kicked on the water and closed the curtains behind me. Feeling the cold water stream down my back I sighed. I exited the shower grabbed a towel and wrapped it around me. Looking in the mirror as I passed by it I wondered what I was going to do today. The phone rang. I groaned and grabbed the cordless phone that was next to my door. "Yes Kyle?"

"Yo Sierra! Give me a ride. My car got busted up again and I'm grounded from driving again."

My foolish little brother I thought to myself sighing. "Fine, but you have to promise me, no street racing EVER again"

"Fine fine. Just get me to school sis."

"Oh give me some time, I just got out of the shower" I hung up then went to my closet. I grabbed a V-neck off of one of the clothes hangers. Then hurried over to my chest of drawers picking out a pair of capris. I entered my kitchen and checked out the box of pop-tarts on the counter. Opening it I threw it into the trashcan. Frick, need to run to the store. I grabbed my car keys and ran out the door locking it behind me. When I reached my moms house I saw my brother being chased out of the house by my mom, she was threatening to hit him in the head with a rolling pin. I laughed. My brother darted into the car. I rolled down his window and said to mom "Hey, been a while."

"Sierra. Bring your brother home tonight so I can beat him within an inch of his life. Then we'll be having spaghetti" "Cool, I'll be there" I said giving a thumbs up before pulling out from in front of the house.

"Thanks sis" I blinked surprised then pulled my right hand off of the steering wheel to check my brothers forehead. "Something wrong?" I nodded.

"You thanked me, you said yourself years ago you would never ever thank me. Are you sick? Did you eat mushrooms?" I asked getting ready to U-turn the car. He laughed.

"I'm not sick, I'm just thanking you for being here for me when I break something, You coulda said no thanks I'm busy or something along those lines" I shrugged saying, "It's nothing besides I'm keeping tally. Anyways I needed to go to the store... I ran outta poptarts"

"Figures" He said folding his hands behind his head. When we got to the school he darted out and ran to his friends, I sighed.

I pulled out of where I had stopped only to have a parent who was texting try to get in front of me... I stomped on the brakes honked my horn flipped her my finger shouting "Get the fuck off the phone lady!" Then pulled out leaving her bewildered.

Turning left I noticed she still hadn't moved from where she was. I sighed and continued on to the store.
