{*~Chapter One~*}

"I'm like a performer, the dancefloor is my stage." Violet and I grinded together on the table, center of attention as always, while Britney Spears 'Circus' played. As per the norm we were holding another mind-blowin party. Unfortunately it wouldn't last.

"Jade!" I heard my father bellow out my name a second before his purple face came into view. Violet and I made a simealtaneous 'oops' face and jumped off the table, amazed that there was no snapping of bones considering our 4 inch heels.

"Yes Daddy?" I asked trying to be innocent, which is hard wearing a skin tight dress and loads of makeup.

"Jade this is too far! I got a note from your headmaster telling of your newest suspension because of you and Violet put cow manure on all your teachers chairs. Do you know how hard I had to work just so the two of you wouldn't get expelled? This is your 5th suspension and as for this party", he waved his hands around wildly like a banshee and continued. "This is completely out of control! I will be sending you to a high school in California and that is final!" Daddy seemed to have finished but instead turned viciously, "As for you Violet your parents will hear of this."

Vi paled a tiny bit because her parents were pretty strict. We had devised a effective plan to destroy any and all evidence of her suspensions by forging signatures on notes, diverting phone calls and going shopping so her parents would think she was at school. Unfortunately they were going to catch wind of this.

"Now get everyone out of my house and go change!" My father bellowed and I put on a pleading face."Daddy couldn't we just have a little more fun.." "No!"

Sighing I blew my blonde fringe out of my eyes and yelled, "Everyone out!" Of course no one listened so I was forced to be the rain on everyones parade and pulled the plug on the stereo. Immediately people began shooting me dirty glares.

"You heard the woman! Be gone, go home!" Violet yelled helping out. A few minutes later everyone had migrated to the door and we headed upstairs to kick the couples out of the bedrooms. After only me and Vi were left we went into my massive green room to get into 'more acceptable clothes'. Going back downstairs dressed in sweats and tank tops we found Daddy and Violet's parents, Adrian and Lindsey Banks waiting.

The next hour turned out to be torture as we discussed our suspension, the party, and the fact of California. "I have a beach house in that country and I think a change of scenery would do nicely for Jade." Daddy explained the details to Lindsey and Adrian while they nodded appreciatively. Parents. "In fact," Daddy hesitated seeming a bit nervous, "I know what trouble Violet and Jade seem to get into together but I thought Violet would greatly benefit from going as well, and the two would be under close supervision the entire time. You could even do a trial run just for the month and see how it worked out." Vi's parents looked at each other for a minute, seeming to have a silent conversation before turning back. "As much as we appreciate the offer, we don't think Violet has got has gotten into as much trouble to deserve this." 

I didn't even need to assist on this one. "I have a boyfriend," Violet blurted out even if that was a lie. Her mother gasped staring in horror at her while her father's eye twitched a bit seeing as she wasn't allowed to date yet.

"What's his name then?" Adrian ground out forcibly.

"Daniel Murphy" she replied quoting the name of her latest hookup. Taking my phone I opened a picture to show her parents their drunk daughter kissing a boy whose name I couldn't remember. Her mother's eyes almost popped out and I could already see their brains rethinking the decision.

"Oh and I've been suspended 4 other times." Daddy looked a tad confused. "They didn't know about those?" Vi and I shared a grin.

"Actually Mr. McKenzie, I think it would be a good idea for Violet to come along to California, if only for a month or two." Daddy nodded, "Then it's settled. Go pack your things, you'll  leave Sunday. I can ship both your furniture tomorrow. You'll start a bit late in school since it's already the beginning of October but that shouldn't be a problem." And that was the beginning of our adventure.
