Vanessa's pov

"And just like always when we're done, back in the chair for you." David chuckled as he pulled his pants back up, throwing away the condom.

I slowly got off the bed and dressed myself in the same red velvet chemise I've been wearing these past days. I made my way to the same chair and sat down, wincing from my aching lower body. David tied me back up and kissed me before leaving.

I felt sweaty and disgusting. My hair was probably a mess and I was most likely covered in bruises.

There's not much to do here. Not much to do here at all.

Am I even sane? My thoughts have been repeating recently and I can't focus on much. I feel broken, alone, helpless.

At that point, I heard talking but I didn't pay much attention to it. That is, until I heard a gun shot. And another, and another. There were about six gunshots. I knew they were from outside but maybe it was just David's men.

"Oh, look who's back?" I heard David's voice down the hall which made me jump. I had no idea who he was yelling at.

"You know why we're here!"

"Back off!"

I heard two voices but I didn't recognize them. Their voices just kept getting more distant. Then, I heard doors opening and closing and coming closer to me.

They finally reached my door and opened it quickly. "Vanessa! Fuck, I'm here. Don't worry, I'm here now. What has he done to you!?"

A man with blue eyes and messy hair rushed towards me. I tried to back away but I remembered I was tied up. I was terrified of him, I didn't know who he was.

"Don't come near me!" I yelled at him as his hands reached for the rope on my hands.

"I won't hurt you, I promise. You'll be safe." He smiled but I shook my head. He untied the rope and I flinched as his fingers touched my skin.

My eyes started watering and my breathing was becoming quicker. I couldn't focus anymore as he tried to talk to me.

A few seconds later, another two men appear. Both of them being very tall and one wearing all black while the other wore a colorful shirt.

"Oh Vanessa! You're okay!" The one in black rushed over to me and hugged me. I shoved him away and started crying.

The other one slowly walked towards me and looked at me with disappointment. He whispered something to the one with blue eyes and his eyes slowly became watery. The tall one then kneeled down to my level and frowned.

"Hey, I'm Phil. Everything's going to be alright from now on. Can you trust me?" His expression didn't change but his voice was soft and calming.

I shook my head again. I still couldn't trust them. Where was David? "David? Where is he!?" I started looking around the room and into the hallway.

"No, he's not here. Can you tell us what happened?" Phil spoke again and gave me a small smile.

"Something's missing." I mumbled, hoping they didn't hear me.

"The ring! She doesn't have it! We need to find it." The one in black yelled and started looking around the room.

Soon after, all three of them were looking around the room. What ring? Why do they want it? They're probably thieves and I somehow got involved in this.

"Found it!" The one with blue eyes yells happily and rushes back to me.

He picks up my hand and I immediately pull it away from him. He looks upset, almost heartbroken. "Where's David?" I ask again but they all ignore me.

"Do you mind if I put this on your finger, Vanessa?" Phil took the ring and showed it to me. It was a nice ring and I did kind of like it.

I smiled and held my hand out for Phil. He grinned and slide it on my finger.

I must've looked confused since Dan then peered at me. "What's wrong?"

Wait, Dan? And Phil?

"Joe... Joe! That's you! I remember, guys I remember!" I started sobbing as Joe wrapped his arms around me happily. He was shaking and I rubbed his back, I guess I scared him.

"You really thought it would be that easy? Think again." David appeared at the door, a gun in his hand.

He was pointing it straight at Joe and I. He could shoot either one of us. Dan pulled out a gun from his pocket and aimed it at David.

"You shoot and you're dead." Dan spat at David, his eyes glazed over. I've never seen him like this before and it was frightening.

David placed his finger on the trigger and grinned. It all happened too quickly. He pulled the trigger and I heard two gunshots. I looked over at Joe as David fell to the ground.

I felt a stinging pain in my arm and I looked down. I was bleeding. I was shot by David.

Dan cursed and rushed to the bathroom and came back with a towel, wrapping it tightly around my arm. It hurt and I winced. Joe started yelling something but I could barely focus anymore.

"She's too weak! She's losing too much blood! Call an ambulance, quickly!" Dan yelled at Phil as Phil quickly pulled out his phone.

My vision started growing dark and I felt dizzy. I looked at my arm, the white towel turning dark red from my blood. I couldn't move my arm and the pain was too much. The pressure of Dan's hand on my wound made it worse as he tried to stop the bleeding.

Joe was at my other side, holding my hand. "Vanessa, I'm here. It'll be okay." His eyes were watering and a teardrop fell onto his cheek.

I wanted to wipe it off but as I moved my other hand, I winced and shut my eyes tightly. Clenching my teeth shut from the pain, I turned away from Joe. I didn't want him to see me suffer. But that seemed to make him more hurt as he gently grabbed my chin and me face him.

"I'll be fine, please just look at me." He smiled as he kept crying.

"They're on their way. Make sure she doesn't pass out." Phil said as he looked at me worriedly.

The more I sat here, the more pain I felt. My vision kept getting darker and the room began to spin. I felt nauseous. I wanted this to end already.

I couldn't hold it any longer and I started to close my eyes, opening them slowly once in a while. Joe noticed and squeezed my arm. He started crying even more now as Dan felt for my pulse on my neck.

"Vanessa, focus on your breathing." Dan's voice was shaking as he held onto the blood stained towel.

I couldn't focus on my breathing. That was the least of my worries. I could only focus on the pain on my arm and how hurt I was making Joe feel.

I shook my head as my eyes finally gave up and closed. I couldn't open them anymore and I could feel less pain now. My breathing was slow and soft. My hand didn't hurt anymore.

I was still worried about Joe. Hopefully he's alright while I sleep for a bit. It's much less painful.

I could hear all three of their voices in the distance. They sounded stressed, almost yelling at me. Before I felt myself leave, I heard Joe calling out to me.

"Vanessa! Vanessa, please don't leave me! Don't leave me again!"
