The Beginning

This is how my story begins. I was unpopular and for now, I was fine with it. I wasn't two faced or fake like some girls at school. I'm just me. Though nobody liked me but Ava, my best friend and the two other girls in our group, Cory and Sam. And yes, I have a crush on the cutest guy in school, Luke Dean. But of course he's dating the queen b of Nature Hills High, Bridget Young. You have to admit, my life sucked, until the one day it all changed.

It started on the first day of our second year at Nature Hills. I walk in with Ava and of course me being me, the floor has already welcomed me back, twice. Already the most talked about idiot of the year. And it's only day one. Anyway, Ava and I are cruising the halls and make our way to our lockers. Ava's locker is across from mine but hers is next to Luke's. And he's standing there, gorgeous as ever, with his big brown eyes and his hair flopping everywhere. What an angel. But every angel has its devil. And Luke's devil was the blond haired, blue eyed bitch, Bridget Young. And her side- kicks, Claire Roth and Harper Bryant were right next to them. To be honest Claire and Harper are so bloody stupid they wouldnt know the difference between left and right. But they're pretty and friends with Bridget so their lives are pretty good. Anyway as I grab my books out of my locker for first period, I hear laughing behind me. They're not laughing at me are they? Oh no. I see Ava's face in the corner of my eye and her jaw had dropped. What happened. Ava grabs a jumper out of her locker and runs towards me and wraps it around my waist. Oh shit. I know what's happening now. I grab my bag and run to the bathrooms with Ava close behind. Of course I get my period on the first day. Ugh now I have the blood stain on my jeans all day. 

"Hey Ava, you there?"

"Yeah Olivia whats up? You ok?"

"Yeah, I'm good but you wouldn't happen to have a spare pair of pants or anything would you?" I say desperately. 

"Wait what day is it? I have PE so i have my shorts" Ava says and I breathe a sigh of relief. 

"Chuck em here" I say and Ava chucks them over the door. I hold them up and surprisingly they wont look to bad with my outfit. I quickly take my jeans off and chuck the shorts on and then the bell rings. I thank Ava and we walk out of the bathroom and to our first class.

I'm honestly so thankful for Ava. She's been there for me since forever. I remember the first time we met. I was sitting at my favourite park, Nature Hills Park, and I had just gotten a cookies and cream ice cream and just as i was about to lick it, this girl bumps me. It was Ava. I don't know but after that we became best friends and well here we are today.

So Ava and I got to our first class, Science and knowing my luck we had to be put in a seating plan. I wasn't near Ava. I feel sick, I don't like anyone else. Ok maybe Sam and Cory but even they were just split. Sam was with Clare and Cory was with Harper. Ava was put with Bridget the poor thing. Oh no. There's only one other person other than me left. I was with Luke.

"Ok class" Ms Kate yelled. "First day of your second year at Nature Hills and I'm sure you know everyone enough to be able to work with who I have placed you with. Everyone meet your new partner for the semester. 

Shit. I have to spend a whole semester working with Luke. Luke turns to me and just laughs. What did I do? He's not laughing about what happened this morning is he?

"What are you laughing at?" I ask. 

"Nothing, I just cant believe I was paired with a nerd" Luke replies. This is not what I pictured Luke to be like. Just a rude jock.

"Are you kidding me? Luke have you ever met me? I get straight C's all the time. Science is my worst subject so you know what good luck trying to do this assignment by yourself" I defend back and start packing up my books. I'm leaving.

"Wait no, I'm sorry I judged you. It's just I don't know you so I assumed... you know what don't worry please just stay. I'll get to know you." You see this is the Luke i pictured. I stop packing my bag and Luke sticks his hand out. 

"Let's start again. Hi, I'm Luke. I love basketball, Bridget and cookies and cream ice cream." Ok his favourite ice cream is cookies and cream, no big deal. Just the fact that thats my favourite ice cream as well. But he loves Bridget oh well. I'm trying not to melt and mess this up because it is the first time I have ever had a proper conversation with him. This is my Prince Charming.

"Hey Luke, I'm Olivia. I like music, cookies and cream ice cream and candles. I have a pretty chill life."

"No way you like cookies and cream ice cream?"

"It's my favourite." 

"That's so cool. So's mine. Ok, so you said you like music, who's your favourite band?" He's generally interested in what I have to say for the first time. I can't believe this.

"You're making me choose ok umm maybe LANY, The 1975 or 5 Seconds Of Summer, basic I know but still."

"You're joking, I freaking love LANY. I'm going to see them next week, are you going?"

"Of course I am! Wow, who knew we were so alike. Ok so this assessment" I say bringing us back on track, I'm not a grade A student but I still like getting work done. 

"Oh right well this period is almost over so do you wanna meet up after school and start?" Luke asks. Of course I want to. I'm dying to scream YES YES YES but I gotta stay chill.

"Yeah sure where do you want to meet?"

"Well where's the best place in town for cookies and cream ice cream?" Is this gonna be a date oh my god. 

"Bennys!" We both say in unison.

 "See you there after school Liv" he says and smiles. Only Ava calls me Liv. Then the bell rings and Bridget runs to Luke and kisses him. Yep there goes my fairytale. I pack my bag and walk over to Ava, that poor thing was stuck with Bridget. I feel so bad for her.

"Dude, you and Luke were totally hitting it off" Ava says as soon as I'm next to her.

"Really you think?" I say excitedly. "Wait but how was that for you your stuck with Bridget you poor thing."

"Woah Liv, not talking about me right now. We're talking about you. WHAT JUST HAPPENED HUN?" Ava says and we start walking to our spot and I'm telling her everything.

So this is the first chapter of a new book I'm writing.

I have decided that I'm not going to post the second chapter until this gets around 20 reads. I want this chapter to do well before I continue with the rest of the book. So share the chapter with your friends and get them to read.
