Landing was probably the most scary experience for Amy, the sudden jolt as the plane hit the ground made her palms sweaty from gripping the seat so tightly. The plane then drove into, she guessed a garage for planes. Once the plane had stopped the door opened and a round, kind faced lady with curly, grey streaked hair and wearing a lot of protection gear it seemed, walked through.
"Hello you two, Oh this.. I just came back from feeding the dragons"
"There... there are dragons?" Percy looked worriedly at her.
"Don't worry they aren't on the loose and you aren't expected to make friends with them either" she chuckled, "now follow me, I'm Mrs Volira by the way"
The door was connected directly to a bridge tunnel so they didn't get to see much of the inside of the garage area. At the end of the tunnel was a small reception area but Mrs Volira led them through another sliding door to behind the desk of an even bigger reception area.
"This is the main reception, so if you have problems with timetables, need directions things like that you come here and someone will help you... now wait a moment " Mrs Volira left through the main open doorway which they guessed lead to the rest of the school.
"This place seems pretty real enough" whispered Amy even though there was no one else in the room.
"Do you really think dragons and fairies are real though?" The reception was pretty normal looking for a school.
"Well we'll have to find out won't we"
"Right, you guys are gonna have to dump your stuff in the hospital ward for now, apparently you have to be put into houses tomorrow with everyone else... sorry you won't be having a nice cosy dorm tonight" Mrs Volira sighed.
"That's ok, I'm just so amazed to be here, like I had no idea things like this existed" Amy smiled excitedly.
"I'll bet you are... even those who grow up in magic families are in awe of this place, come on and see the rest of it"
The doorway lead to a wide corridor, that connected to many others. The two were already dreading that they would never find their way.
"That is the great hall where you will go tomorrow morning and also where you will eat all your meals, including to today" they walked past two giant wooden doors.
"How are we ever going to find our way back here?" Amy asked.
"The hospital ward is just at the end of this corridor, it's not too difficult" Mrs Volira pushes through the double doors at the end of the corridor.
The hospital ward was a large square room and practically everything was white. There were a couple of blue curtains here and there but apart from that everything was so white and clean.
The beds closest to the far end,
We're like proper hospital beds with stands beside them and lots of wires connecting to electronic devices which Amy had no clue what the names were for them. This worried the two a bit because if they had this sort of equipment, there must be quite a few dangerous things. There were also beds with curtains and small desks with lamps beside them, where Amy and Percy were asked to put their things.
"You two can get into half the school uniform and put these navy hoodies on aswell" Mrs Volira handed a hoodie to each of them, "you don't know which house you're in yet so you can't have a crossover yet"
"Thanks Mrs Volira" said Percy
"No problem, lunch is at one and dinner is at seven, see you in magical creatures" Mrs Volira waved to them before leaving.
"Wow this place is so clean, it's blinding me" Amy had to rub her eyes.
"These clothes look so futuristic though, look at the cool stripes"
Percy held the clothes up to him. They both had a Navy top, similar to a thermal skin, which had grey striped patches on the shoulder and elbows. The trousers were the same colour and had a striped patch on the side of the thighs.
"Wow this looks epic" Percy was checking himself out in a mirror when Amy came round the curtain.
"Yeah, though you do look like you're in a wetsuit so I would put the hoody on" Amy laughed.
"Well Yeah... what do you suppose we're meant to do until one, it's only ten o'clock"
"We could..do a bit of exploring?"
"What and get lost?"
"Come on It'll be an adventure" Amy grabbed his wrist.
The twins tried as best they could to remember the corridors they had come down but the school was such a maze. There would be large sections where the doors were completely the same except for the numbers nailed onto them. They had come up to the same statue twice and had managed to find he potions and healing block twice. They then found a corridor that lead to outside the school. Amy looked up at the building, it's emerald green roofs glinted in the Midday sun.
"Wow it's so pretty" she gasped even more when she saw the beautiful green fields around the school.
"Is that... is that a Pegasus?" Percy squinted into the distance.
"Sure is, there are loads out in the fields" came a voice behind them.
They turned around to see a fairly small boy with mousy brown hair, he wore the same navy top and tight trousers as them, but with a sea blue crossover over the top and the fire like logo Percy saw on the files in the car the other day.
"Have you not seen them?"
"No sorry, we're new" Amy said.
"Well nice to meet you, I'm Alex by the way, Rivinell second year... guess you'll know your house tomorrow"
"Yep we're first years... this is Amy and I'm Percy"
"Twins?" It was clear to tell they were and they both nodded," Well it's almost lunch and I was heading in, do you want me to take you to the hall?"
"If you could Thanks" Amy smiled.
"Follow moi"
"Oh god not more French" Percy moaned and Amy laughed.
They made it to the two giant doors, this time they were open. In the hall were four long tables, well possibly more than one, that stretched the length of the hall. White pillars rose up on either side, branching out at the ceiling which was painted in such detail you couldn't really focus on a single part.
"Not many of us stay for the summer, it's usually if your parents have big higher ranking jobs and can only take you home for half the holiday, like mine, or you don't have parents to go home to" Alex pointed to a fairly small group of people round one table in the middle.
"Hey Alex, who've you got there?" one boy with dark hair Shouted.
"This is Amy and Percy guys, they are new, so be nice"
"Which school did you come from?" A tall girl at the far end looked at them.
"They're first years Meg" Alex explained.
"But aren't all first years meant to come tomorrow" the dark haired boy exclaimed.
"We were brought over from France, we lived in an Orphanage there". Amy found the courage to speak.
"Oh cool, do you speak much French" meg asked.
"We're both practically fluent" Amy said.
"Though I really hate it" Percy joined in the conversation.
Soon enough they were chatting about All sorts with their newly made friends.
