Every Life Has A Story, And Every Story Has A Life

The Change

Sometimes in our lives we come across people who are so good and kind that they can fill humanity even in a wild beast. Once our little Rose came across one such person, Anay.

Rose and Anay were classmates studying in fifth grade. Rose was the most popular student in the school, she had many friends but none of them was a true friend. They were her friends only because she was extremely rich and beautiful. She was popular but very mean, boastful and arrogant. On the other hand Anay was a sweet, simple, kind and helpful boy. Rose and Anay were classmates but still they had never spoken a word to each other till tenth grade. The reason behind it was that Rose thought that talking to Anay would make her unpopular because he was unpopular and he hated her because of her insensitive and bragging nature. They were happily walking on their life's road without even realising that soon their paths were going to meet.

One day Anay forgot to bring his pencilbox to school. He asked Rose for a pen. Rose did help him but she had a different intention behind it. She had given him a very costly pen that her father had brought from London. She did so just to boast about her new pen. The real problem began when Rose forgot about helping Anay.

In the last period when she tried to search for the pen and was unable to find it she imagined that it was stolen. So she complained about it to their teacher and got everyone's bags checked. By the time Anay's bag got checked and the pen was found she had remembered that she only had given him the pen but she didn't want to admit her mistake so she let him get punished. He again and again said that he didn't steal the pen and Rose had given it to him but no-one believed him.

Such incidents are hard to forget and quite disturbing. If such incidents occur at such early age then the impact is even more. So did happen with Anay. He was not sad because Rose had proved him a thief infront of the whole class but was sad because even his friends and family didn't believe him and all considered him to be a thief.

A few days passed and soon their final exams began. Rose used to go to Tution for science regularly. She went to her tutions the day before her science paper too. She also took her phone there. The next day when she came to school she brought the same bag that she had taken to her Tution with her without realising that she had forgotten to take out the phone. Just before the examination she noticed the phone in her bag. She got scared because bringing phone to school wasn't allowed and if she was caught she would not be allowed to write the exam and also would be thrown out of the school.

Just when Rose was thinking what to do, Anay passed from there and noticed the phone. It was a perfect opportunity to take revenge.

But what Anay did next was beyond everyone's imagination. He held Rose's hand and took her out of the class to a corner and asked her The reason behind bringing the phone to school. She got quite scared when she came to know that he had noticed her phone. She became calm only when he promised not to tell a soul about it. She told him the complete story. She still feared getting expelled from the school. To calm her down he told him one of his grandmother's saying, he said,"Life is an exam where the syllabus is unknown and question papers are not set. Still there is one surety that if you have a pure heart then the result will always be good." This saying occupied a special spot in Rose' s heart never to leave. Then he told her to quickly run to the class and fetch her phone.When she returned he took the phone from her and said that he will keep it with him because if she would have it then she won't be able to concentrate on her exam. He also promised her that if the phone gets caught then he won't let her get punished and he will take the blame on himself.

She was shocked on hearing this. She had done so wrong with him but still he is helping her and is even ready to take the blame on himself for her. She was quite confused and so she asked him the reason behind helping her. In reply he said,"I know we never got well together, we had always been fighting and humiliating each other and in the past few days the war has got even more violent. It is true that you got me punished for the crime that I never committed and today I have the perfect opportunity to take revenge I can leave you in this trouble and can even complain against you and get you punished for the crime that u never intended to commit but I won't do so because if today I did this then you will be in the same situation that I was in yesterday with all the trouble and pain. I know how it is to be in such a situation and so how can I get someone in the same situation, to have the same feeling, the same pain and the same sadness that I had felt!"

Hearing this Rose was filled with remorse. She didn't knew how to face him and how to apologise for the crime that she had committed in the past. Still she gathered up the courage and apologised to him for her mistake. She even told him that she is now going to the principal and will tell him the truth about both the incidents and will then face all the consequences. She told him that this is what she actally deserves and does not deserve his help. She was stopped by Anay and he told her that he has forgiven her and she does not need to feel guilty any longer. He even told her that everyone deserves a second chance and whatever she did was her past which cannot be changed but she has her future in hand and can do whatever she wants to do with it.

Then they went to the examination hall. By the time they reached there the exam had started, even the reading time had finished. They were scolded for being late and all warned that they won't be given any extra time for reading. Even after all this he didn't complain about it to her. Later on he returned her phone and went home.

Soon came the day when the result of the exam was to be diplayed. Both Anay and Rose were able to achieve ranks in the top three.  After the result showing a farewell party was organised for all the students who were studying in tenth grade. In that party in front of all the students, teachers and principal Rose committed that Anay had never done anything wrong and she only had given him her pen the other day and also that she had wrongly accused him. There in front of everyone she got on her knees and apologised to him for her mistake. Others too apoligised to him for not believing him and humilating him. He readily accepted Everyone's apology. Everyone was cross with Rose and the principal was about to punish her for her deed when Anay jumped forward and  requested everyone to forgive her as she was really feeling sorry for what she did. Everyone forgave hwe on his request. The principal praised him for his good nature and kind heart.

Now all was fine so Rose decided to go and thank Anay for his help. When she went to him and thanked him she was shocked to hear the reply. He said," I don't know what you are talking about. I never helped you." His this sentence touched her heart. She was shocked to see his modesty.

From that day onwards Rose turned into a completely changed person. She became kind, helpful and a loving being. She also stopped bragging. She lost all her fake friends but she had no sorrow for that because she got the most precious gift ever in return, a true friend, Anay.

Life can be turned beautiful if you have the belief that change can happen, and the patience to wait for the right person to come and do so. You don't need to have superpowers to change someone or his life; just a thought is enough to bring THE CHANGE.
