Soulmate

     "Dad" said 8 year old Jackson Wang. "What is a soulmate?" His dad looked at Jackson and smiled. "Well buddy, a soulmate is someone who is meant for you, who fate brings to you through time." Jackson pondered that thought for a moment, then  asked his dad, "Do you think I will ever meet my soulmate?" "Jackson, my son, I believe that everybody has a soulmate. It just takes time." Throughout the whole day, Jackson was wondering when he was ever going to meet his soulmate. 

     The next day came along and Jackson's mind was still on finding his soulmate. He was walking to the kitchen to get some breakfast when he heard crying from the other room. He peaked in his dads room to find out that he was sitting there in the corner of the room sobbing. "Dad, are you okay?" His dad wiped his tears away from his cheeks. "Son this is grown up business. I'm sorry, but we will have to move to the states." Jackson's eyes lit up with shock. "Dad we can't! All my friends are here and I can't leave them behind!" "I'm sorry son, but life has it's up and down moments, and this is sort of a down one". "You think?" Jackson ran out of the room with anger and sadness. He went into his room and slammed the door shut. He was full of mixed emotions, and his back had a heavy weight on it that couldn't be lifted. 

     His dad peaked his head in Jackson's room. "Jackson, can we talk?" Jackson mumbled yes under his breath with his back turned towards him. "Jackson, I know you are worried about leaving your friends behind, but you will make new ones in the states." Jackson turned to face his dad and said, "What if my soulmate is here and I'm leaving  them?" "You never know Jackson. This is not a big thing to worry about." His dad told him in a calm tone. 

"Dad, will I ever find my soulmate?"
