Robins pov
"Jen?" I yelled. "Jen, are you out here?" No answer. Great. My parents were already going to kill me for sneaking out, now I had lost my best friend in a group of drunken teenagers. I had to leave. It was 2:30 in the morning and I still had to walk home. I would be driving, but my parents didn't know I had snuck out, so my car missing would probably be obvious. Plus, I had drunk way too much to be driving.
Sighing, I downed the rest of my bottle, threw it on the floor, and pulled out my phone. I scrolled down and selected Jen's number. After a couple of rings, she answered.
"Hello?" she sounded breathless.
"Jen? Jen, if that's you, I swear i'm gonna kill you! I've been looking everywhere for you. I've got to go home, my parents are gonna kill me as it is. I didn't expect to be out this late." I explained. She laughed at my stressed nature.
"Chill for a second, would ya? I'm fine. I'm at Ben's house. You can walk home on your own can't you?"
"Yeah, if I could walk more than three steps without nearly collapsing!" I replied, sarcasm in my voice.
"Holy shit, Robin!" She exclaimed. "How much did you drink?"
"About 2 and a half bottles of vodka."
"Really? I don't think you should walk home on your own then."
"I'll be fine." I sighed. "See ya tomorrow." I hung up. Great. My house was 2 miles away and now I would have to walk there alone. This is why I don't like parties. I'm an underage drunk, on my own, in the dark. Fun. I turned and walked up the garden path.
I decided I would go the short way, that would take twenty minutes off my walk, and being drunk, I would need it. The only problem with the short cut, was the amount of alleyways I would have to go through. I sighed and walked up the deserted road, hoping this was the only party on tonight.
I managed to walk towards the first alleyway undisturbed, however, when I reached the second one, I wasn't so lucky.
There was a scream. It was female and it sounded scared. I continued walking towards my house, hoping it was just some teenagers messing around, but I was wrong. I turned the corner and saw the silhouettes of 2 people. One was standing there holding a gun, the other was on the floor. I could hear whimpers coming the one on the floor and I wanted to help, but I couldn't move. I felt as if I was frozen to the spot. There was a loud bang followed by complete silence. The figure on the floor was completely still.
When I finally managed to move my feet, I took a couple of steps backwards. My back suddenly hit something and I heard a loud chuckle. I did what anybody would do in a situation like this - I screamed.
My scream was cut short when a hand covered my mouth. "Calm down, beautiful. Don't want to attract a crowd, now, do we?" I heard a male voice whisper. My eyes widened at this. Calm down? I'd just seen a murder and now I was being...manhandled? I wouldn't go down without a fight. I lifted my leg up, and bought it swinging into my captors groin. He groaned in pain and released his grip on me slightly. It was enough for me to push him out of the way and begin running.
I was only a few meters away when I lost my balance and tripped. God, I wish I wasn't drunk. I felt a hand on my arm and I was roughly pulled up.
"Fiesty one, eh boys." Said a completely different voice.
"I say shoot her." Another voice said.
"Nah, take her with us. I'm sure she'll be nice. Won't you, darlin'?" I recognised this voice as the boy I had kicked. It sounded as if he was from Birmingham. I tried pulling my arm away from the person that was holding me this time, but to no avail. "Calm it, beautiful." The same voice said again.
