"You've got a nice ass Mendes!" Someone calls behind me while I stand on the boat we rented. We took a trip to bora bora for our thirty third wedding anniversary. Celebrating being together for this long and whatever else. It's been a lot of fun, and they stay in their own places so there's lots of alone time. Even in our transparent pool, we can do anything we want. Night is the best time but we all stay in most days. We're spending three weeks out here, three weeks of alone time, three weeks of privacy.
"Thanks," I giggle back moving towards my husband who smirks at me. "This is so romantic," I lay on top of him looking at the drink he's sipping.
"Non alcoholic I promise, it's some sparkling water and lime." He smiles offering me the cup. His first few months were somewhat difficult but he made it through just fine. And now here he is, we collect chips together and we count them as the same.
"You sure do love fizzy things." I chuckle sitting on his lap pressing a soft kiss against his lips. "Tonight," I pull away turning to the others.
"We're having dinner, on the little island type thing a little ways away from our villa." Shawn smiles carrying on what I had begun.
"And why might I ask?"
"Shawn took me there, way back when." He can remember distinctively wether it was for our honeymoon or just before I had to have my surgery but it's all just one blur to me.
"And you loved it princess, you loved the sand, it was your favourite thing." He smiles running his fingers through my hair. "And you liked to walk on it and dig your feet in, and if you were sitting you'd put your hands in it too." He gives a smiles hugging me softly.
"I had brain damage cut me some slack." I huff and he chuckles.
"I never said it was anything less than cute, adorable actually." He corrects kissing me again.
"Shawn!" I can hear yelled in the distance. Still he refuses to pull away from me. It's an important time for the both of us, we're trying to make up for all of the lost years. "Shawn!" It's collectively screamed all around until finally he pulls away to investigate. I move off of his lap walking down the where the girls hide.
"So who's calling him?" They all stand at the edge trying to see anything that they can.
"What are you doing here?!" My husband calls happily. "Anniversary," He smiles and they all scoff slightly. It's his high school gang, back to torture me.
"I can't believe you're still with her," they shiver. "Or have you divorced," they sound more excited by those words in the place of confronting them I walk to the other side.
"Tell him I'll meet him back at the villa." They are all ranked pretty high on my list of fears.
-
"Baby what happened? You just left," He pouts walking up the steps. "I know you don't like them honey but they're my friends." He kisses me gently. "I invited them to dinner tonight," he sits next to me staying quiet, giving me some time to soak in what he just said.
"We yelled at him for you," the girls smile walking towards us. I nod but I lay in complete silence. Why are they even here? How coincidental that we just ran into them in the middle of nowhere.
"You ok?" He whispers to me the girls simply walk into the villa itself leaving us to talk alone. "You're really pale?"
"I don't feel very good," I shrug at him standing up.
"Drink some water, maybe you're just dehydrated." He leads me slowly into our vacation house. "If you're not feeling well we could just do this whole thing tomorrow?" He touches my back softly while I grab a glass filling it with water.
"It's fine, you guys go." I peck his cheek. "You go have fun with your friends." I gulp a couple glasses of water. "You haven't seen them in a long time go catch up."
"We'll stay and watch her." The girls volunteer running out from wherever they were.
"I don't wanna leave you," He pouts and I stand as tall as I can pecking his lips.
"But you'd be leaving me with a nurse, a police officer and a lawyer." I give him the puppy dog eyes. "Baby, I'll be fine." I hum giving him a soft kiss.
"If you're sure?" He leads me to the bedroom drawing the girls out and to their own vacation homes.
"Positive."
-
"Shawn," I smile while he walks up the stairs, he walks a little off and looks weird. "What happened?" I raise an eyebrow at him.
"He's kinda drunk." They shrug and my eyes go wide.
"No baby, no," I sigh at him making him pout. "Almost twenty three years." I sigh looking down at his old high school friends. "I'm not sure if he told you but he's been sober for years and you just ruined that for him." I lead him inside of the house.
"So what, we don't get a hello? Are you too good for us now? Too pretty? Too famous?" They shrug.
"You intoxicated my husband, if you'll let me I need to help him." I open the door letting him waddle in first the girls wait to take him in and assist with his taking care of. "You just ruined what he's worked to hard to accomplish,"
"Have I ever told you," he slurs falling against me and away from the girls. "How sexy you are mad?" Even hearing him speak is heartbreaking. We worked so hard to get him away from this.
"Drink some water and go to bed." I sigh. "I can't deal with you right now," the girls walk out and to their boyfriends who wait in the next boat. "I can't believe you did this."
"Don't be mad at me," He pouts giving the most lost puppy look I've ever seen him display.
"I'm not only mad at you, I'm furious with you but everyone else on top of it now please drink some water and go to sleep!"
