So this is a story I wrote for my English final and my class loved it as did my teacher and the best news it will be published and turned into a Children's Book!! I'm so excited. :) And I just have to say this story is kinda based off me since my name is Cynder Elyn...but that's not important!! Enjoy the story. <3
I was running as fast as I could down the long windy empty streets. My harsh breathing echoing in my ears as my one clad foot clanked on the stone steps echoing off the surrounding walls. The streets were empty but perhaps that is because everyone was still at the ball. As I stumbled I could hear them closing in on me but I had to keep running but it was kind of hard considering how only one of my feet had a shoe on it. To make matters even worse it was made out of glass; I was surprised it hadn’t broken. I had to keep running even though I left part my precious possession behind. It was that entire stupid prince’s fault! As I ducked into my house I slammed my door shut and ran to my room in top of the tower and watched as the King’s men raced throughout the streets to find the girl. Me. As I climbed into my bed I tried to fall asleep but I couldn’t as the past few hours raced through my mind. But before I can even begin my recent tale I guess it would be best to start at the beginning.
Once upon a time, I was born and I was given the name Cindy Elyn to loving parents, but unfortunately my mother past away two years later and only a short year after my father decided to remarry to a horrible woman who had the misfortune of having two sons; who later became my step brothers-Josh and Jordan. No matter what their mother said the truth was they were horrible and I suffered years of torture. Now you are probably thinking I’m getting off topic but believe me it’s their entire fault for the dilemma I’m facing now. Yes now, tonight’s events are their entire fault, not to mention that dratted prince! Why you ask? Because thanks to those two blokes besides making me take care of their mice and doing all their chores they turned me into a thief! I, Cindy Elyn am a total thief!! I love to steal and it has become a part of me and I can’t resist but tonight’s events weren’t for my pleasure they were for Josh who wanted this ridiculous item. Diamonds, clothing, and food you guess? Oh no! The boy wanted a pair of glass slippers; I have no idea why but just use your imagination for that part.
Now flash back to earlier today, shall we?
I was lying in my room looking over my latest find, just a poison apple that the mean old witch in town had been threatening people with…I bet it wasn’t even really deadly. I was right about to take a bite to see when my two annoying boys enter my room.
“I have a job for you to do tonight.” Josh muttered in his annoying British accent.
“Yeah! A job.” Mumbled Jordan, he wasn’t the brightest.
“A job you say?” I cried dramatically as I ran over to the window throwing and spinning my apple about until it landed on some annoying girl in the neighborhood, Sydney White I believe? As she cursed me I only laughed and prayed the apple was poisonous and by luck maybe she would bite it!
“Earth to Cindy! Or should I say Cinderella!” Josh mimicked with Jordan chuckling right behind him. They were both the death of me.
“Oh shut up you twits!” I muttered. “You know to never call me Cinderella it’s a horrible name so what is it you want?! Perhaps a magic carpet, a fire breathing dragon or maybe even wand?”
“Yeah! I want a wand!” Cried Jordan jumping up in down before he was wacked on the side of the head by Josh.
“Oh hush it you! No Cindy Elyn, what I want from you is something very unique! Glass slippers!”
