GLOSSARY OF THE BROKEN
Note: This glossary is incomplete. I will improve upon it the more I write. So please COMMENT, VOTE AND FAN!
The Broken: referring to the immortals as a whole. They are named for their broken, mutilated or changed genetics.
Linking: Form of teleporting, VERY RARE. The ability to Link is uncommon and cherished in the Broken. It allows the individual to vanish and reappear at will by “linking” teleports or “doors” to locations and opening/closing them. However, many cannot close the portals and are known as “stains”. Though it drains the being of energy, some have been known to Link with ease, and are HIGHLY LEATHAL.
Vampires
Regeneration: Positive
The vampire kind is separated into two factions, “The Lost” and the “Denali”.
Traits: They are generally lustful, obsessive and compulsive. Undying and protective of possessions, wealth and knowledge, and can often lash out if provoked. If their “prey” is downed until the subject can no longer live they become vicious, or “Lost”, their eyes becoming red and physical abilities stronger.
Abilities: Obtain inhuman speed, strength, and stamina and are capable of “downloading” information, as to keep to a low profile amidst humans and to make their “prey” more susceptible. It is VERY RARE but not completely uncommon to be able to Link. It takes millennia to learn as a skill and not a borne trait.
Appearances:
Denali; Generally human like- vivid skin, blood/heartbeat and scent-, only perceptible by their eyes which have the ability to change to black when feeling a sharp or aggressive emotion, and fangs, that sharpen when aggravated or feeding.
The Lost; they have pale skin, sharp fangs, red eyes, and are human looking apart from obvious differences, e.g. skin, eyes.
The Wolfe
Regeneration: negative
Traits: Battle prone and unruly, are infamous for their boisterous celebrations and gatherings, and are HIGHLY protective and loyal. Like wolves, they live in Packs or “clans” in mortal terms. They are not immune to death, though they are to mortal wounds and illnesses.
Abilities: Are strongest species amongst the Broken, fast and agile, are sought out in wars and as mercenaries, as they are battle trained at a young age, and fierce, and fearless in the eye of combat.
Appearances: Usually large, tall burly creatures, with eyes that flicker black when enraged or lustful and relatively dark skin. They wear dark clothes, and are qualified with many weapons. The rich of their kind mingle with the mortals and purchase companies for control, accommodations, as well as provisions, with their reserves.
Necromancers:
Regeneration: negative
Traits: In general, necromancers are mortals with genes passed down through the lineage, in some it is weak and in others it is extraordinarily strong. Are separated into bands according to family power and can manipulate natural elements and in some cases can manipulate mental and physical aspects similarly.
