"I want to break up with you"

That's what Fay knew.
She smiled despite her ears ringing and hearing a shattering noise. Could that be her heart?
How trivial. Nonsensical.
"I understand, but could you enlighten me on the matter why?" She asked him as smoothly as she could. She was afraid her ugliness would show.
Afraid that if she messed up just a bit she wouldn't get a chance to surrender and pray that Kyle would only take the victory like the hero he was to her.
She was currently arranging the books on the bookshelves of her sanctuary, the big heavy books she couldn't reach to put it on the high shelves so she required the assistance of her boyfriend.
It was such a nice way to put it. Kyle was her adorkable boyfriend whom she loved for all these past 2 and a half years now. The library was where they currently love being at. She loved being here, it was quiet and held wisdom. It was also a place where she met him: Kyle Evergreen.
It was love in first sight. Usually the girl would be irritated by her illogical and ill-mannered thinking but looking back, she couldn't blame herself for falling for him in fact she fell in love with him when he gave her that smile.
It was inevitable. Whether in a next life, even if she was a boy. Even if they were both the same genders, different ages or different races.
She would still fall in love with that dazzling smile of his.
Usually, she wouldn't chase after a boy or a girl. She doesn't care for a potential love interest because the moment they lose interest, is the moment she stops pursuing them.
It was a tiresome task and most of the times she would lose herself in the battle of fighting that ugly side of hers.
But she never fails to move on.
The reason why she let's them go is because she doesn't want to force them to love her.
She doesn't want to people to put up with her...
She's understandingly boring. A know-it-all. Plain. And mediocre. When people want excitement or thrilling for adventure, she couldn't provide it because her life was mostly consisted of her being alone.
So she adapted to her living condition of being alone and loved the peacefulness of it. The illusion never shattered of course. She never felt bored nor has she felt the itch of using her adrenaline or wanted an exciting life.
She was perfectly content with staying by the sidelines and watch people have fun. Because if they have fun, she has fun as well.
Weird on its own way but it works... Most of the time.
"I'm sorry but I can't explain it," Kyle stiffly said as they stood by one of the aisle of the bookshelves. Fay tried hard not to show her annoyance and fear through her smiling facade.
Please don't break this. Don't break this illusion Kyle.
"I'm afraid I cannot allow myself to move on if I do not know the reason as to why you decide to leave me and continue to live your life." Fay attempted to be polite. But she just couldn't stand the fact Kyle leaving her without telling her why.
Was this showing your ugliness in a way? Because you refused to let Kyle be happy? Even... Even if it wasn't your doing?
Maybe she could fix it? So that he wouldn't leave her? Was this another fight? Maybe if she yielded at this fight he would return back?
