Soft lips, gentle hands, kind eyes, good nature...

All the attributes Connor had lacked.

I know, I shouldn't be comparing Colby to him but it was the best way I could be certain.

Certain to not fall for the same tricks.

I stiffen for a second at the memories trying to resurface. They don't.

Colby pulls away from our heated kiss, leaving me wanting more than prior to this moment. I have to stop myself from leaning into him.

"You okay?"

"Of course I am," I beam up at him, my smile contagious. I mean, how could I not be happy right now. He's my kind of perfect.

"Good," he smiles, pulling me close once again but resting his forehead on mine. "Shall we go scope out that barn?"

Oooh!

"Yes!"

Ella, don't be so immature, you're an embarrassment.

Colby takes my hand in his, pulling me back downstairs.

"Shit, the battery's dead," he says as he turns on the camera, ready for another round of filming. "Oh well, I think we got plenty of footage before."

Before we made out.

I mentally scold my subconscious. She's a little over-confident today it seems.

"Ella,"

"Hm?" I turn my head his way.

"Do you still.. uh-like me... after, you know..?" He scratches the back of his neck, nervous.

Not prepared for his question, I take a few seconds to process it.

"Yes," I say shyly. Colby's eyes light up at my answer and from this I know that he still liked me. I guess we hadn't had much of a chance to clarify our feelings for each other after the Lauren debacle.

Unexpectedly, Colby places a delicate kiss on my the side of my face. I fail to hold back a small smile.

"How are you so good at it?" I ask out of the blue. Though, of course, I immediately regret it.

"What do you mean?" Colby tilts his head confused.

Oh my god he looks so cute. Kiss him!

I ignore the nagging voice in my head.

"I mean, well... with people?" It comes out as more of a question but Colby seems to understand.

"I am? I don't know," he shrugs.

We made it to the barn and Colby pushes one of the large sliding doors across, allowing us to enter. The barn was very still. However, it looked rather lived in by many animals once. Horse stables lined one side of the ground floor. A hay loft was to be seen above. Opposite the stables were a few closed doors. This building isn't as trashed and graffitied as the house.

"I want to live here," I exclaim, spinning around on my heels with my arms outstretched.

Colby sneezes twice from the dusty upset air.

"No thank you!"
