Girl from Heaven-A Jigoku Shoujo Offshoot Story

This is an offshoot from the Jigoku Shoujo Series, kind of a fanfiction but not quite so (you will know how, just keep on reading).

Conceived and written after two back-to-back episodes of Girl from Hell, this is the antithesis to the revengeful existence of the Mistress.

REDEMPTION

She opened her eyes. The sky was so blue, and the sunlight-golden rays of it touched the clouds and everything else on land and air. The air was sweet to inhale, perfumed by flowers that she could not recognize what kind is its scent.

Maybe because she wasn't on earth after all.

She got up from the grass she was lying on. Where am I? Have I really reached nirvana? she mused.  There was no denying the ethereal beauty of the surroundings. Nothing on earth could look so amazing as this lovely field, grass ruffled by a soft breeze; the trees, heavy with fruit never she had seen in her many lives, in the past lives when she was reborn.

"Shiori," the wind whispered, prompting her to find the owner of that voice. "Dear Shiori," again it called.

Perhaps it was the kindest face that she has seen on a woman who looks like in her twenties. A face that instantly puts you at ease. No, more than just ease, more like inner peace.

"Who are you? Why do you know my name, my real name?" Shiori finally said.

The woman smiled, "My name is Blanca. Just like you, I have reached Sukhavati. I have been here a long time ago, that I lost count of the years. Not that it matters anymore, since we are now immortals. I have been watching you, Shiori, and though you have lived many times and been named many names, you will still be known by name as given to you when you were still a newborn soul.".

Awe and happiness filled Shiori when she heard this. Sukhavati, finally! The ultimate goal for a soul. To be free from sin and reach the best of what he can be. She must have done really well in her last life, the last she've led before awakening in Heaven. To be in Heaven! Nothing could compare.

"I'm so happy, Blanca. Finally, I have earned my reward. I am redeemed."

"Yes, you are indeed redeemed, Shiori, and your soul is truly purified. Now, it's time to you to do the redeeming. Come, follow me."
