Rain Drop

Pitter-patter the raindrops fall,

Softly onto the cold pavement, down the dark, silent alleyway.

Creep, creak, sneaks in the frost,

Turning everything once warm to ice ice cold.

With a sneaky smirk, the Snow Queen blows,

Minty breaths swirl, twirl, dancing in the air.

Shyly, mischievously, frivolously, snowflakes fly,

Gently, gracefully, they land on the silent mortal world,

Dusting it with a coat of pure innocence.

The velvet cape undrapes the awakened sun.

Sunlight and snow, glittering, shimmering, as they meet,

Hurried footsteps, dirtied snow,

Alas the snow, tainted with dirt

Melts and returns to the clouds,

Preparing to embark,

On its next journey,

As a raindrop.
