CHAPTER 14: Reborn (Part 1 of 2)
Skyler stood motionless as she looked at herself through the mirror of her bathroom. She gazed into her bright green eyes and analyzed every facial feature of her face. She light tanned skin seemed more radiant than before and eyes seemed to dilated under the bathroom light. She wondered if it were her imagination or the strangeness of the bathroom light, but she never recalled her face looking the way it did now before. She then looked down at her moon amulet that sat perfectly still and beautiful on the counter of the sink and traced her fingers over it. She then sighed and looked back into her reflection where she then heard someone call her through the door.
“Oye, Skyler you almost done in there?”
It sounded like Jasmine. She then grabbed her moon amulet and clasped it around her neck. She tightly wrapped her towel around herself and opened the door where Jasmine stood close by the door's frame. Jasmine smiled and then walked in. She then closed the door behind her and looked closely at Skyler as if she noticed something strange about her.
“What?”
Jasmine then shook her head and smiled,
“You look very beautiful. Your face is getting its color back.”
“My-color?”
Jasmine giggled as she then smiled and picked up a stand of wet hair from Skyler's shoulder and said,
“Ever since Vitcus and I came back, your face looked very pale. I'm just glad to see you the way you always look. Not all pale and sick looking.”
Skyler looked at her with a shocking expression as she then turned her head quickly and saw her reflection. Was this really how her face looked. She couldn't really except it for she couldn't quite remember it. She then turned back to Jasmine who smiled and said,
“Lets turn you into a real goddess tonight. I want to see that John's face when he takes a good look at what he got himself into.”
Jasmine's smile slowly turned devilish and scandalous. Skyler couldn't help, but giggle as she felt the delight of hearing the word goddess. She just hoped John wasn't who they claim him to be. Yet her instincts were saying differently. Deep down inside she began to doubt her own emotions toward him. What if John was lying the whole time, was she going to be able to take the betrayal.
After a few hours Jasmine stepped out of the bathroom with a very wide and happy smile. Vitcus then looked up from a magazine that he was holding while laying down on Skyler's bed and said,
“What's with that weird smile?”
“My smile ain't weird!” said Jasmine with a little attitude.
She then ran up to Vitcus and grabbed on to his arm and pulled him. She pulled him up to his feet and said,
“Your going to be so proud of me when you see what I did to the goddess.”
