Two weeks have passed by and there's been non stop training. Everyone could sense Jason's change, he was more on edge and temperamental. From the corner of my eyes I could see him eyeing Alex more closely. He kept pushing her more and more. I know she hated it.
Charles was running laps around a couple of trees, over and over again.
I was told to practice flying. Jason wants me to get faster and faster. Charles and I were sweating like crazy, I could only imagine how bad Alex was sweating. I went over to Alex and Jason to see if we could get a break.
"Jason, can we get a break?" I said singing.
What I didn't expect was anger.
"No! We need to be prepared for anything! What happens if one of you gets caught or shit! What do we do then!" He screamed back.
"Jason, chill," Alex said with a warning tone.
"I will not fucking chill Alex! She has to learn that the world isn't fucking kind! She's too damn innocent but that ends now!"
He raised his fist up and I immediately closed my eyes, waiting for the impact to hit my face. It never came, there was no pain what so ever. I did get pushed though, I opened my eyes to see Jason's fist slam into Alex's left cheek. Charles grabbed me before I collided with the ground. Jason looked shocked.
"Lily, Alex...I'm sorr..."
Alex slowly got up and held up her hand and slapped him hard.
"You never fucking touch her! Do you fucking understand!" She shouted with pure hatred.
"I don't give a pigs ass if your angry, but you don't raise your hand on her or Charles! If she's innocent, then let her! I want her to stay that way mother fucker!" She finished off her rant with a swift kick to his balls. Jason fell to the floor in tears and grabbed at his groin.
"You okay Lily?"
I looked up at Alex to see the bruises starting to form as her cheek got puffy. Her eyes had unshed tears but she kept it together. Charles helped me up and looked over to the house and to me. Alex had walked into the woods already and Jason was sitting on the grass with a guilty expression.
"I forgive you Jason," I said softly as I past by with Charles. He looked at me with sadden eyes. I felt the tears on my eye lids. I looked over to see Alex long gone. I could feel the pain she was feeling, the sadness. The tears streamed down my face. My wings came out and my body shocked.
"Charles, stay with him."
I flew out of his grip and into the forest. I wasn't going to leave her alone, she needed someone. The level of depression became unbearable as I finally saw her. She was on her kneels, her hair covered her face. Hiding the tears and the broken eyes. She was breaking down, big time. I pulled her into my arms and held her tight.
"It's okay to cry, it's okay to be upset," I told her as I buried my face in her hair.
I kissed the top of her head and pulled her closer. She broke down completely at that moment. she gripped my arms tightly as if she thought I would leave.
"He was mad. He didn't mean it Alex. I saw his guilt, he lost control."
"It wasnt right," she choked out.
"He would never do it again, trust me I see the good in him. He didnt mean it"
Her body shook with sobs, she wanted him but she was mad at Jason.
"Please forgive him, I did," I said softly.
Jason wasn't bad. My ability allowed me to see it was an honest mistake. I could sense her fear. I turned her so that she was facing me. Her cheek was puffy, a mixture of purple and black. I hugged her again, trying to calm down as well. At that moment we weren't friends anymore, we were sisters.
