"What if my mom finds out? My mom is going to kill me!" Betty said terrified. Betty started freaking out the minute we were off school grounds. Worried about the school calling her mom. I told her Queenie and I did this all the time and our parents never got a phone call. That however did not console her.

I mean Queenie and I are well known skippers, so our parents probably wouldn't care even if they got a phone call. Which is why I suppose our early statement didn't comfort her in any way. Oh the parents of the avid skippers don't get phone calls, so the mother of a child who has never broken any school rules, most definitely wouldn't. Seriously, what was I thinking when I said that? She obviously wouldn't be consoled by it. I've hung out with good kids before I've tried that line before. It has never worked before so why did would it work now?

"Calm down Betty, We will sit here until closer to cheer practice then we will take you back to school." Queenie consoled. Betty calmed down slightly, but she was still worried about getting in trouble. I really thought Betty would be able to handle this. The minute we sat down at the table and Betty's leg started bouncing.

"Seriously Betty calm down. If you get in trouble with your mom, I will personally walk to your house and convince your mom not to punish you." I reassure. I will walk right up to Alice Cooper and make her punish me instead of Betty if that will make her calm down.

"What can I get you girls?" Pop asked from across the counter. I look at the other two then smile at Pop. I don't know about those two, but I am hungry. I didn't get to finish my food at school, because some dark haired goddess ruined my mood. It could have been a really nice lunch if she had just kept her mouth shut about Queenie and me keeping secrets.

"A chocolate milkshake and some fries." I order before looking at the other two. Look I didn't eat my lunch, so I'm going to get some fries.

"Just a vanilla milkshake, Pop." Betty ordered with her signature smile. There's the Betty we know. Right now seems like the only time the real Betty can show up. There's no Archie or Veronica just Queenie and me, and we haven't upset Betty, yet

"Can I get a burger, fries, and a vanilla milkshake please?"Queenie said before Pop smiled and walked away. Queenie's order just further proves my statement about not ever finishing our  food at school.

"Thank you guys," Betty whispered. What exactly is she thanking us for? Uping her anxiety? Potentially causing her to get in trouble with her mother?

"What for?" Queenie ask voicing exactly what I was thinking. Betty shouldn't be grateful for anything we've done, because we haven't really done anything.

"For being here for me,' Betty starts. Being here for her? We haven't helped at all? "I'm sure that if you two weren't involved, I'd still be at school pretending lunch didn't happen." Betty finished smiling at me before turning to smile at Queenie.

"We really aren't doing much." I say with a smile. Queenie may be doing a shit ton, but I'm not doing anything so that kind of cancels out her hard work.

"Thank you for what you are doing though. Comforting me, sharing secrets, it's really nice. " Betty said smiling.Sharing secrets? What secrets did we share? When did we share secrets? I didn't share any secrets. So, Queenie what secrets did we share?

"What secrets Betty?" I question extremely confused. I send Queenie a look. I'm not close to Betty if any of us messed up it was her. What secret could Queenie have shared that Betty would be okay with? All our secrets are really messed up.

"I told her about Jason and I's friendship, that's all," Queenie said stressing 'that's all'. God over here giving me a goddamn heart attack. God I thought sweet innocent Betty was about to witness murder. If  Queenie had told Betty a secret she "shouldn't have" I would have killed her. However, Betty wouldn't be here still if Queenie had done that, so I shouldn't have assumed the worst.
