"Almost there," Harry mumbled. With shaky hands he slowly turned the doorknob and walked into the plain white room. Sofia was laying down on her back, playing with her IV in her left hand and staring out the window.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you. You would have the nurses yelling at you if you accidentally pulled it out." He stepped closer to her bed.

Sofia glanced up at him and instantly lit up with a smile. Her veins were now visible on her bald head, her wrists seemed slimmer, her lips of a purplish color, and her pupils a little more dilated. All the signs that told Harry she was not getting any better. Even though he already knew that he had still had hoped for some kind of miracle.

"Harry. Boy am I glad to see you," she said in a whisper-like tone.

Harry pulled up one of the chairs leaning against the wall closer to her and sat down. He sighed, pushing his curly brown hair away from his eyes. "Don't worry. I'm here now, but only for an hour though. I would've been here sooner so I could have more time but me and my mum got into an argument."

"What of?" She attempted to sit up but he lightly pushed her back down.

"Don't worry about it. I'm here with you and that is all that matters."

"You're so sweet." She smiled. That's when Harry began noticing the color change of her teeth and gums. He almost broke down on his knees but knew he needed to stay strong, for Sofia.

Sometimes he even wondered if she knew how badly she was getting. All she did was smile and joke around, which was a good thing. That's all Harry wanted, to see that smile on her precious face.

"Thanks babe. So how has your day been?"

"You mean up until right now?" She chuckled. "It's been okay. Past all the needles and doctor talk it's been a good day."

"Doctor talk?" Harry sat up straighter and laid his hand over hers, "what did they say?"

She gazed deeply into his green eyes, to her they seemed to have gotten darker, which wasn't a good sign. She averted her light brown ones to the tiled ceiling. "Don't worry about it," she replied. Mocking his previous statement from before.

Harry laughed. "You're right. I should be more focused on you and the time that we have."

He hated talking like that. As if they only had seconds left, he would always tell her they had all the time in the world because their love is stronger than cancer. At some point after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer she didn't believe it anymore, didn't want to keep his hopes up. So together they stopped saying that.

"Enough about me. How was your day?"

"Well I have done nothing but sleep so I would not be so sleepy when I came for the visit," he answered.

"Didn't you get any sleep last night?" A worried expression crossed over her face.

"Not really."

"Why?" She asked.

"Bad dreams."

They weren't necessarily bad but they weren't good either. It was about the first date they shared, a walk on the beach that led to skinny-dipping in the ocean. He didn't know anything about her cancer then. She still had her long, dark brown hair that trailed down to her waist at the time and she looked like she was so full of life...they were both fifteen.

"Sorry to hear that." She patted his hand and slightly smiled.

He smiled back at her. "It's okay. I'll be fine."

Just like that they stayed, gazing at each other the way they always did. Observing every feature of one another with adoring eyes. Even though Sofia looked sickly she was still the most beautiful creature he had ever seen.

"You know. You are still as beautiful as I remembered you," he said. Breaking the silence.

"And you are still as charming as I remembered you," she said back in a sweet voice.

His smile nearly dropped and a tear trailed down his cheek. "Will you always...remember...me like that?"

"Of course," she whispered. Trying to not cry either.

"I love you so much Sofia.

"I love you too," she mouthed. She pulled him closer into an embrace. His head laid against her chest, he could feel the trouble she was having breathing. When they pulled apart they wiped at the tears that had fallen in the process. Suddenly Sofia started coughing.

"Are you okay?" Harry stared, scared something might happen.

"Fine," she answered. The coughing stopped but then came back and more violently, afterwards if coughing up nothing blood started to come up.

"Oh dear god."

Sofia stared at the blood stains on her hand as it shook. "Harry."

Harry just stood, in the back of his mind he was telling himself to go get help but could not get himself to move.

"Harry go get..." Her eyes began to fall. "Go get...."

The monitor beeped and a red light went off. A doctor along with a bunch of nurses rushed into the room. Harry could not understand what they were saying or what was going on. Next thing he knew he was pushed into the hallway and the door slammed in his face.
