Cracking. Slintering the wood they run on as each step is taken the faster the splinters chase them nearly catching up with their worn out bodies. Pushing themselves to the limit exeling(?) further infront of the cracks but only just as mer seconds behind the planks split in two then into four and so on however all peices end up in the same place, falling to the depths of the Shavanack Ocean below. Realising the fate of themselves they try and run fast to escape the claws of fate but whatever they are destined to do is inescapable. The cliff side where the rope bridge hangs apears into their view only a few hundred steps and they are there, to safety. Unfortunately fate isn't done with them yet. Feet barely touch the planks before they are of again and into another step. Unseen by the others the last escapee isn't fast enough, his foot taken hostage by the planks. He screams for help, voice coming out raspy, not loud enough for the others to hear. Peering down at the water he will soon be submerged in he realizes his life has been lived. Quickly praying to the Gods he whispers an 'I'm sorry' to the others and wishes them luck even though they are unable to hear and see him. Suddenly the bridge jerks forward gravity taking its time to end the poor boy's life. His long, light brown hair flys out of his hazel eyes into the air above him giving him a clear view of his freedom; death. Meanwhile the others are gathered on the ends of a cliff breathing uneven and heavy, hands on knees trying to regain air to their suffocated lungs. They made it just in time to see the ropes snap but not realizing one of their own has gone; taken by death. Although anything is better from where they were. Coughing and crying falls on deafened ears, tears of joy leak from their captivity as they know they won't have to go to that place again. Purple hair stands out from the rest as a boy rises to his feet looking for someone. Everyone watching closely as the boy maneuvers around the group of thirteen people. His eyes glaze over, tears, realization hitting him right in the face. His older and only brother, missing from the safety of their group, gone, left, free, but left him. The boy crumbled to the ground physical and mental exhaustion taking over his petite body and mind. Falling backwards his eyes roll back passing out completely. 14
