I opened my locker and grabbed my script for double drama this afternoon. I was so proud of myself that I managed to get the part of Titania in our school's performance of 'a Midsummer Night's Dream'. After all my dream was to make it big as a model and actress in Hollywood.
"Hey, Adelaide," Kate Smiled at me.
"Hey, Kate! How are you?"
"I'm fine thanks, I was just wondering if I could borrow your notes from the last dance theory lesson so I could copy them up please?"
"Sure thing," I smiled at her and pulled my dance notebook, giving it to her.
"Thanks! I'll get it back to you first thing in the morning." And with that, she left.
I shut my locker and made my way to my drama class, but bumped into TJ on the way causing him to drop his textbooks.
"Look where you're going, bitch!" He snapped and frantically picked up his things and stormed off.
I raised an eyebrow but ignored his comment. TJ was known to be short-tempered and scatty so I didn't let it get to me. Stepping into the classroom, I saw the tables pushed to the back of the classroom ready for rehearsals. I saw Veronica and Georgia sat on the tables, chatting and waiting for class to start and decided to join them.
"Hey girls," I greeted them with a smile.
"Hey Addy, we were just discussing the after-after show party," Georgia explained. Our school always held an after-show party for our performances, but of course, they were too tame for Mountridge School students, so they always held another party afterward.
"Oh right! Where is it going to be?" I asked them. Veronica replied.
"My place. My parents are driving straight to their friends after the show to stay the weekend, so I'll have a free house."
"Great! I'll definitely be there." Just as I said that, the school bell rang and Mr. Ellis walked in and the class quietened down.
"Right class. Today we will be revisiting act 2, scene 5. The show is a week today so we really need to crack down and perfect these scenes."
After two hours of rehearsals, the last school bell of the day rang, signaling it's time to leave. I walked home alone. Upon opening the door I was hit with the smell of alcohol. Uncle Andrew must have opened up the whiskey again. He's meant to be here to look after me as my dad's always busy with work at his company. My mum and dad split up when I was just a baby and I haven't seen her since. But I shouldn't complain about being alone. It's because of him being such a workaholic that I get to live in this large house and receive a large allowance each week. I jogged up the stairs up to my room without saying hi to my uncle. I dropped my school bag at the end of my bed and opened up my bay window, sat in it and put on some calming music.
