It was a year later after the roof collapse accident at the sports field. And the Batch 2011-2012 were preparing for the annual parade for a program. The entire batch was divided into 5 different colors representing their own barrio. They were all gathered at the newly rebuilt sports field. One of the students and a close friend of Carlo, JM, were talking to his friends.

“Today is going to be awesome! I can’t wait until we get back. Why do we have to parade outside the school? We’ll just cause traffic.” JM said.

“I know. You’re going to perform on stage, which you have been hoping for, for years. Too bad, Carlo isn’t here anymore.” Victor said as he let a small sigh.

“Yeah, he would have made us laugh.” Abigail said as she remembered those times where Carlo made her laugh. “I miss him already.” she said as a sad face came to her face.

A moment of silence came in the atmosphere. Then Inoh and Cheska spoke respectively.

“Is it today, Carlo’s death anniversary?” he looked at them

“I think we should visit him at the cemetery to pay respect to my funny seatmate.” She suggested.

JM and the rest of them agreed. The parade was about to begin. They went to their positions and waited for the go signal to walk. As minutes pass by, JM felt a cold wind and a shadow passed by him. He looked at both sides but nobody was around him. He asked his classmate if he passed by him. “No” he said to him. He wondered to himself, what just happened? Then suddenly the go signal went off and they began walking.

Outside the school, there was a big flock of pigeons flying from the north. Traffic was smooth. There were jeeps, small cars from every lane. A semi-truck holding metal bars, hollow blocks and concrete, a van with cables and ladders was in front of one another, and far behind was a 16-wheeler containing a huge liter of gasoline and in front of it was another truck holding propane tanks.

Back inside the school, as the parade was about to go out, JM tripped and hurt his right knee. It only bled a little.
