November 24

The cold November wind brushed up goosebumps onto Harry's skin as he walked down the old paved road to his bus stop. The almost bare tress indicated the coming of the Winter Solstice, and by the looks of the skies today, it was going to rain. Harry's feet grased the ground with the bounce in his step as he reached the bus stop, slinging a sly arm around Bethany, one of the girls that had a huge crush on the cutest guy in school. Bethany's insides twisted and the redness on her cheeks showed the butterflies growing inside of her belly. She looked up at Harry who looked down at her and smiled at him, "H..Hi, Harry."

Harry chuckled at the way she sounded so nervous and so gentle. As if a feather touched her and she would break in one touch to the skin. He took her chin between his index finger and thumb and lifted her head so his lips matched hers. He leant down to slowly brush his lips against hers but Bethany's dreams where crushed when the bright yellow HCHS #7 bus came into her view. Harry noticed too and slowly left Bethanys side, leaving her cold. The images of Harry would remain in her memory until she found a new crush, but with a guy like Harry; how could you find a new one? Harry slowly stepped onto the bus and looked down the isles of two seaters and lowered himself down on a seat next to a girl named Rebecca. Becca, was emo and a little nerdy. But Harry didn't mind. He could start a conversation with any person. A smile crept onto his face as her nudged Becca out of her musical indused trance. She looked up at the somewhat cute, curly haired, emeraled eyed lad. She took out one of her earbuds and smiled, "Hello, Harry."

Harry loved how everyone in the school knew his name. Maybe it was because he was so nice to Freshmen, Sophmores, Juniors and Seniors. Harry being a Junior himself, knew everyone in his grade and talked to everyone. Harry lifted his index finger and pushed back Becca's glasses, giving her a shy smile, "Hi, Becca. Wha're you listening to today?"

Becca was depressed, and music made her feel better. The song so happened to be Human by Cristinia Perri and she was in love with it. It described her; she was only human. She didn't understand why people bullied her or why her brother abused her. She overthought, and was stressed half the time; but sitting with Harry on bus #7 made her feel like she had a friend. Someone to be there for her. Be her shoulder to cry on. She clicked the on button on her phone and showed Harry a picture of the Human album cover. He smiled at her as the bus pulled to a stop in front of a big brick building labeled "Holmes Chapel Regioanl High School". Harry gave a slight nod to Becca and slung his bag around his shoulder, getting in the back of the line of people heading off the bus. School was Harry's escape from home. Home was Harry's hell; school being his Heaven. He loved it here, more than a kid would hate it. Harry walked up the stone steps to the front of the building, winking at a few guys- wait. What had been mixed uo in Harry's head? Did he think those guys were girls? Harry shook off the moment as if it was nothing and strolled into the filled halls of the high school. His locker was a few hallways down; didn't really matter to him. In a matter of moments, he was already there; fiddling with the combination on his lock. He smiled, acomplished and swung the locker open, a loud scream erupting from the door. Harry's eyebrows knit together as he pulled the door back. Gasping he placed his bag on the ground and held the nose of his best friend. "Garret, Jesus Christ, I- I'm so sorry. I didn't see you coming over to me, let alone hear a 'Hi!' from you. I hope you don't have a concussion-" Harry rambled, slowly walking with his buddy Garret to the nurse a few ways down.

"Harry, mate. You're rambling. All's well." Garret replied, wiping the blood from his hands onto his light brown khakis. Harry looked down and muffled a quiet laugh.

"You bloody idiot, you're pants are stained." Garret looked down and stopped as he saw the massive blood stain his nose had given them.

"Goddammit. Mum's gonna have a fit, yeah." Garret groaned, taking off his tshirt to use as a tissue until they reahed the nurse. Harry found his eyes roaming up and down Garret's body, his brain having completly no control of his actions at this point; his heart was now in control. Harry wrapped his arms around Garret's waist and nudged his nose lightly with his, kissing Garret's lips soft and sweetly. Garret's eyes buldged out of his head, thoughts swarming his brain like a pack of yellow jackets. Harry pulled away, losing his energy as he breathed in, "I've- you know- always wanted to um-" Harry was at a loss for words. He took his bottom lip between his teeth and looked up at his bestfriend who was a deer in headlights. "Do that."

"You fucking gay."

"Garret-"

"You're a fucking homo."

Harry's eyes pricked with tears. What had even gone on? Nothing made sense. He was confused, and hurt by Garret's actions. Did Harry even like girls anymore? I mean sure, he was curious about what a boy's lips would feel like on his, he did think about it. He almost kissed Bethany this morning, did that even mean anything to him? Did he even feel any emotion towards girls? All these questions burned in Harry's mind as he stared at Garret staring back at him. A clear, salty tear drained out of Harry's eye. "I like-" Harry choked on his own words as he spoke.

"Dick. You fucking nasty homo." Garret spat at Harry, never giving him one last glance as he sped down the hallway and down to the nurse were the two boys excpected to go all along until Harry couldn't controll himself.
