Chapter One: The Mission

Niall Horan stole my diary. Okay, so I guess he hadn’t realized it, and I hadn’t either, but he still has it! I had been at the airport, placing my things on that x-ray conveyer belt thing, like my fellow worldly travelers. Somehow, when he’d scooped his belongings back into his bag, he’d taken mine as well.

I had noticed way too late, after he was long gone. So of course, the only logical thing is to get it back. The real question is how I am to go about getting it back. So even though everyone said those spy books, crime shows, and random fake moustaches I bought off the internet would never come handy, they were quite a necessity now! Who’s laughing now, world? Okay…probably still you, since I was the idiot who allowed her diary to slip away.

But I won’t dwell on the negative! I finally have enough money to take a trip! Sure, it was only a short plane ride to visit a friend and I now had to spend it trying to get my diary back…This optimism thing is hard. Who knew? I have new respect for the annoying, bubbly people on Disney Channel. Not that I watch that.

Dear me, I’m getting off topic again. Well, I suppose there’s a lot missing from my story. But I don’t really want to talk about my past. Now I’m happy girl, smiling all hours of the day! I’m serious, my smiley happy-go-luckiness hasn’t faltered in front of anyone since forever ago. And forever ago is not something I want to remember.

So I’m going to move on! There’s a lot that enables me to do this, get my diary back. I know where he’s staying, as a friend’s family owns the hotel his band chose. She owed me a favor, and I called it in for that particular information. And I’d already arranged to be a maid at the hotel before even taking the trip, in order to pay my rent.  So I know where he is, and I have a means to get to him. It’s the perfect setup. Wow, I sound like an assassin or something. It’s kinda making me feel a little…BA.

I know, I know, why not just ask him for it back? Well, because it would make an excellent book! Fulfilling my dream of being a world famous author has never seemed closer. Plus, you never know, he could turn out to be a total dunce or numbskull or blockhead (thank you, thesaurus!) or a yokel who wouldn’t let me have it back or make me pay for it. I understand yokel has nothing to do with anything but I just love that word. Not to mention the pure bragging rights. Who else could say they followed Niall Horan around for the purpose of achieving something? A stalker could, but still!

Why do I need that diary back so badly, you ask? Good question! In short, it contains my life in it. Everything from when I lived with my dad who liked to hit me, to when I lived with the rats on the streets, to now. No one knows that about me. I’ll save the unsavory details for when I write my award-winning memoir. And there are all those pages I wrote about him. If he found out I was following him, and wasn’t scared, those pages would. Those pages could scare the most hardened criminal into crying for his mommy. Being a fan girl is a hard life.

But anyway, tonight’s my first stake out. I’m getting that diary back. He won’t know what hit him.

Author’s Note: More of her past will be uncovered in the next chapter. And she is a Niall fan girl, but puts those feelings aside in order to complete her mission: getting the diary back. She had been on the same plane as him, granted in another section, but hadn't noticed the missing diary until after reaching her hotel, which is the same as his, but in the family quarters where she can stay in exchange for work as a maid ( it's a medium sized hotel). Tell me if you like the style this is written in, because I’m worried she sounds weird. Please comment, fan, and all that jazz! Thank you for reading and I hope you stay with me as this story continues!
