Chapter 3-Holly

Calum's P.O.V:

I wake up to my alarm going off, the sound of rain outside. I look out my window and see it's pouring, sighing to myself.

Just another gloomy day... I thought to myself. I got ready for school, putting on a Nirvana shirt and black skinny jeans with black and white converse, my usual attire. I walk downstairs and grab an apple, biting into it and grabbing my back, checking the time on my phone.

"Heading out?" I hear my mum's voice walking into the kitchen.

"Yeah, figured I could get there a little early and look around a bit" I replied with a small smile and she smiled widely back.

"I like that you're smiling again, I missed the happy you and I'm happy you're fitting in so far, okay, stay safe, I love you" she said and I smiled wider, loving being able to make my mum smile like that.

"I love you too mum" I say and hug her, walking out the front door and getting into my car.

Kat's P.O.V:

I woke up to a rainy day outside my window. I took a shower and when I was done just stood there. You know how when you need to think and you're in the shower how it's just nice to stand there and feel the warm water cascading down you? It's just relaxing and the only part of my day that I can actually just, relax.

After a little while I decide to get out since I don't want to be late to school and dry myself, blow-drying my blonde hair and putting some mascara on my eyelashes, pink lip gloss on my lips, and some light concealer in attempt to hide the dark circles under them from my lack of sleep.

I walk out of the bathroom and into my closet, picking out a red and black flannel and black leggings, putting a leather jacket on top and finishing with red hightop converse. I check the time on my phone and see I was in the shower longer then I thought.

"Shìt" I mumbled when I realized I was going to be late. I decided to skip breakfast and ran downstairs, almost falling, finding a note in the counter.

Dear Katrina,
I had to leave early to form an operation on a patient that needed emergency assistance but left some money on the fridge for pizza tonight. Love ya,

I sighed and looked at the fridge, deciding to leave the money until afterschool cause I might lose it or it might get stolen. I walked outside and got on my bike, starting my ride to school.

Calum's P.O.V:

I was driving to school, humming along to a song by Green Day and driving when it started drizzling, and suddenly started pouring down with heavy rain. I sighed and turned on my windshield wipers, continuing to drive. I made it to school and got out of my car, running up to the school doors. I walked inside and ran my fingers through my slightly damp hair, starting to begin my walk to where I think the library is.

Then I hear laughing and turn my attention to a corner of the hallway where there was a small possy of girls that had their hair perfect and faces caked in makeup, wearing almost all pink. They reminded me of the girls from Mean Girls. Then I saw what they were laughing at, Kat was in the middle, soaking wet from what I assume, and hope, was the rain. She wasn't crying or anything just had a blank expression on her face, looking up at the girl in pink high heels.

I walked up towards them and right before the 'queen bee' slapped the books out of her hands, I walked in front of Kat and she ended up hitting my stomach, not having too much of an effect on me.
