marinette's pov:

i heard Mr.Adler and glinda talking in the other room,i couldn't really make out the words they were saying,it was vague,i was still on the couch,i tried to sit,i felt a sudden pain in my stomach,i touched it slightly,why does it hurt so bad ?

the surprising thing was when i coughed,i felt some liquid im my mouth,i touched my lips only to see blood

Mr.Adler came in the room and sat on the armchair besides me,his expression softens

"how are you feeling ?"

"worse than before,whenever I try to move,i feel pain especially in my stomach"

"yeah,glinda told me it's normal since there is massive bleeding in your intestines,that will eventually lead to organ failure"he said looking away for a moment than looking back

"um..."i said getting a bit frightened

"sorry didn't mean to scare you"he admits

"it's okay..i guess"

"so,what exactly happened ? all i know is when i came i saw you in pain in the guests room,other than that,it's nothing"he questions

"well,it was in the middle of the night,when suddenly i felt myself getting injected by someone,after that i started to feel sharp pain"i explained

"do you know how he looks like ?"

"nope,he was wearing a mask"i paused trying to remember"however,if i recall correctly he was wearing this ring,it was strange looking"

"how ?"

"i can't really remember the details,sorry"i admit

"it's okay"

"how does ricin works anyway ?"i ask curiosity taking over me,i want to know what its doing,this freaking poison that is in my body,i wasn't paying attention when adrien's mom explained

"ricin first works by getting inside the cells of a person's body then prevents them from making the protein they need,of course without protein,cells die,eventually this is harmful for the whole body"

"That's horrific,where is glinda by the way?"i asked looking around trying not to move much

"she said she was going somewhere"he says straight away

"but i didn't hea---"

"That's because the poison slightly effected your hearing"

hearing him say all of this deadly symptoms caused by ricin made me feel kind of desperate,is this going to be the end of me ? i still want to live,i never imagined that one day i would die in this miserable slowly suffering way

"am i going to die ?"i started to tear up,tears started to fall

"of course not,you're going to be ok,you hear me"he reaches out and comes besides me and hugs me"everything is going to be ok"

"don't worry,just relax and clear your mind,okay?"

he sat beside me,gently stroking my hair,it felt nice,somehow his tenderness reminded me of adrien,i guess it's true when they say like father like son,he stayed with me until sleep took over me
